We'll be staying at the Polynesian in a few months. Can anyone give me a first hand account of how far along the construction of the new tower is ?? Did it affect your stay in anyway ? Any idea when the exterior work, building, landscaping, etc. is supposed to be completed ? Thanks !

The new tower is being built near where The Spirit of Aloha was. The only disruption is that walkway to the Grand floridan is closed

We were just there last week and the construction had no impact on our stay. As others have stated it’s on the opposite side of the DVC buildings. You could see the tower from the lava pool and from the beach, but other than that the noise was basically zero. Here is a photo I took one morning from the dock. You can see just how far it was.

Know it’s going to be beautiful but really looking like a Polynesian island village meets Waikiki.

I wouldn’t book a standard cash room right now at Poly because that could impacted by the construction. We like using our balcony to relax and enjoy the ambiance of the resort.

Not worried about our DVC Poly booking. Construction is far enough that I doubt it will bother us in any way.

Maybe they'll put the top back on the lava pool volcano on the next refurb and hide the tower. 🤣

It used to be taller.

We are here now and it’s fine. Even when just chillin at the beach with the eye sore in the corner of my eye it is still relaxing. I only refer to it as an eyesore because of its current state but overall it is lookin good. If you go further down like Moorea or Page Pago then you really don’t notice.
