We have booked the Poly with garden view for Dec this year for 5 nights. As a surprise I am considering upgrading to a Lagoon view for my wife or asking for flowers and wine to be placed in the room. If shes good I'll do both!! Is it cheaper to do it UK side or would I be better off waiting to get there and hope that some kind person in customer relations takes pity on me and gives a good deal? Ideas appreciated. Less than 10 months to go.    :cool1: :thumbsup2

The Polynesian is a beautiful hotel and you've made a fantastic choice! The Polynesian offers three types of standard room - garden view, lagoon view and Magic Kingdom view. The price difference is approximately $100/night extra for the lagoon view and $150/night extra for the MK view. The lagoon view rooms do look towards the Magic Kingdom, and will have fireworks views - but the castle is likely to be partially blocked by a tree/foliage. The MK view rooms offer direct/clear views of the castle.

The lagoon and MK view rooms are popular, and there is a good chance you'd be disappointed if you left it until check-in before upgrading. Who have you booked with? A UK tour operator may be able to upgrade you, but check the pricing they offer carefully. If you've booked direct with Disney they'll be able to do the upgrade more easily.

Regarding the in-room flowers & wine, the Disney Florist could do this for you, or you might be able to arrange something once at the resort, via the concierge.

Have fun planning!

I can't answer your questions - but just wanted to say that upgrading to a lagoon or MK view is a fantastic choice!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We were at the poly in May and only had a garden view room, and although I loved the resort, I really didn't feel the 'magic' of being at a hotel so close to the Magic Kingdom - When I looked out from our balcony I really could have been miles away!!! So...... next year we are planning on having a week in a MK view - this is my ultimate dream :cloud9: (I just hope the exchange rates cooperate and I can afford it!!):lmao:
