Help! Okay after reading another post I am having second thoughts about staying at the Polynesian. Have you had good or bad experiences there?

I think I have always had good experiences there.

But like any hotel in or out of Disney there are times when you can have bad experiences.

I personally love the place, the homey atmosphere, casualness etc....

If you are nervous about it, split your time at another resort.

~Kerri-7 more days and Polynesian here I come.....

I have had bad experiences at the Polynesian like any other place I have gone but 90% of the time it is paradise to me. If you need to be talked into wanting to go to the Polynesian or any other resort than you should pick another one.

PLUTO2,
Just to set your mind at ease. I have stayed on site over 35 times. I have had good trips and bad at the same Resort. You will get so many different opinions about every Disney Resort there is. For instance I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge in January and was kinda disappointed. We had a savannah view and great view. It just wasn't what I had expected. I have read so many reports from people who love this place. I do however LOVE the Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans-Riverside. If you read the threads you will find many who hate these Resorts. It is just a matter of opinion and the staff who you encounter that will make or break the Resort for you. I am also staying ay Polynesian in September. First time, but ready to try it out. Good luck and don't let people's good or bad opinions sell a Resort to you. experience it yourself.

Thanks Tluvs2talk for the feedback. I guess with the amount of money I just need some reassurance. Also Tikiman I know how much you enjoy the place and your website gave us some information about the place that we thought sounded great:) You helped to remind me about comments made about other hotels that we had enjoyed in the past. I guess I am just having one of those'tough to make a decision days'. Thanks for your input.

I can understand wanting everything to be perfect. I feel the same way every time I return to the Polynesian or any other resort. When you spend the time and money you don't want everything to work out the way you dream it will.

When I made my pages it was not to get everyone to go to the Polynesian it was to help those who wanted to know what it was like. I just put information and pictures of what I have seen and experienced myself. Not everyones trip will end up like mine but if it happened to us it can happen to you.

I have heard stories from people who stayed at other resorts that were just as good if not better than my trips. If they would do web pages also you could see how great they are also.

I think the best idea is to go with a theme you like. That way you are atleast starting out on the right foot. No sense staying at the Polynesian because I say it is great if you don't like the tropical theme.

I am sure you will make the right choice for you and your family.

Aloha

Steve

Thanks for your comments. I have decided that now is just not the right time to plan a fun Disney trip. I do appreciate all the feedback and hope sometime in the future to be back to WDW.

Tikiman,
In your experience, what is the best building to request for the Polynesian. Do you know where I can find a map with the building #s or names?
