Is there shade at the main pool?

Not much. Neither pool has much shade.

Poly is a beautiful resort but if I had to pick between the two my favorite is the GF. Just love the grounds, the lobby and the rooms in the villas are beautiful. We own DVC there so haven't stayed in regular room in a long time. My daughter and her husband own DVC at the Poly so next time we will be staying there in the villas for a sound time. It's nice, but I just like the decor and style of the GF better. They are totally two different resorts. It just depends on what theme you like better. You can't go wrong withe either one.
