My plan for august so far is 4 nights at a Disney non DVC resort, 3 nights at a universal resort and then two weeks at a DVC resort.

I have decided for Disney POFQ or the Poly and there is a £400 difference between the two, so wondering if it is worth the extra for just 4 nights as I have always wanted to stay here?

You know what? If you've always wanted to stop there and you've had to postpone the trip by a year for your course - you deserve the perfect trip.

Yes £400 can be seen as a lot of spending money but you will always have that feeling of wanting to stop there.

If you were going for a bog standard 2 weeks in one place then the difference would be ££££££'s but as your looking at 4 days the difference seems "reasonable"

As they say in the adverts "you're worth it!!"

we had a free night for our wedding staying at poly mk view conceirge and we loved it, would go back if i could afford it

We were due to stay at the Polynesian this April but ultimately felt we could not really justify the cost, Easter prices with the low exchange rate made it over £400 per night, but summer months I know offer better value for money.

We got off the monorail and had a good look round though and took photos of the beach views which are fabulous. It is quite dark inside and totally the opposite of the Grand Floridian with all it's pastel colours.
The restaurant choice is good but best of all is the location, just a short monorail journey to Magic Kingdom.

If you would like to see some of the photos from the beach, let me know.

*by the way you have spelt Florida wrong in your 'ticker' thingy* :)

Claire, IMO it's definitely worth the extra for the 4 nights - especially if you've always wanted to stay there! :thumbsup2 I love the Poly :lovestruc - from the tropical, lush landscaping to the volcano pool and beach area. There's a couple of great onsite restaurants and it's easy to pop to the GF (walk around the lagoon past the Wedding Pavilion or monorail) for a drink/meal/browse... Plus the easy access to MK via boat or monorail is fab. Not forgetting it's easy access to EPCOT too as you can walk to the TTC and pick up the monorail from there... It's lovely to watch Wishes from the beach and don't forget the Electrical Water Pageant... Plus nothing beats being able to see Cindy's Castle

I could go on... but I'll just find a few photos to post instead!!! :goodvibes

I have noticed, I haven't got round to changing it, can't be bothered,:rotfl:

Thanks everyone - I am going to book it.:goodvibes

Of course its worth it if you have the money and its what you want.

I'm spending about £1300-1400 on a 7 night Disney cruise this August, could have gone with Carnival for about £400-500 less but IMO Disney is worth the extra.

I doubt I would ever pay the price for a stay at the Poly but after visiting 3 times in last 2 trips its certainly one of my fave resorts.

Thanks everyone - also going to book 7 nights at AKV and then I just need to hope I can get 7 nights Beach Club Villas at 7 months for DD dream holiday.

Claire your holiday sounds exactly like my plans:thumbsup2, although I am now doing BLT instead of Poly, but we are also planning on Beach CLub, Animal Kingdom & Hard Rock - great minds obviously think alike!!
