There still is no exact date but they told me today that the atrium (lobby waterfall) is projected to be completed the last week of March.

Steve

YIPEE!! Thanks Tikiman!! We will be there at the end of March, and was really hoping it could be finished! This will be our first time at the Poly, and I want to see the waterfall working!! :D :D :D

I hope it is done on time for your visit. I know the pump replacement was more involved then they thought it would be so that is why it has been taking so long.

Aloha

Steve

thanks, Tikiman, we too will be there for our first time the last week of March and would really like to see it open. Fingers crossed.

Also, really appreciate your website, it has helped enormously and kept us excited as we count down to our stay at the Polynesian! 10 days to go!

Steve, we will (hopefully) be at Poly in Oct., any rehabs you know of coming up in the fall???

Also, I noticed the Survivor dates were deleted from your signature...any updates you care to share with us??

Really do appreciate all your wonderful info
and all that you do here for the DIS and it's members!

April will be here before we know it, Chief Tonga!:D

Thanks for the info Steve! I was fairly sure it woudl be done before our trip in May.... but we were still waiting for the Official "Tikiman" statement! LOL

Best Wishes to You, Both! :)

Thanks for the update, Steve. We're going to visit the Poly on our next trip.

Thanks, Steve..we'll be at the Poly March 21-28. Maybe it'll be finished before we leave. I'll have to warn my family before we check so they don't go into shock:D .

VickiVM,

There should not be any more rehabs at the Polynesian. I was surprised to hear about the waterfall but as they said, it had never been worked on since 1971. All the building rooms were cleaned up and painted last summer and fall and the pool is new so I don’t see what would need any rehab in October.

As far as Survivor goes, have not heard anything and we were supposed to hear by the beginning of March. They did extend the deadline for the application so that may mean they extended the notification date but I am assuming I am going to be at the Polynesian in July and not on some island. I will let you know if I do hear from them.

Nuts4Disney,

I found the DIS boards back when I was planning our engagement trip and look what it has turned into. 1996 posts later I am answering 20 emails a day about the Polynesian and loving it.

It has been a rough year with me losing my job in August and Tara’s dad dying but we have each other and I have a great job now.

Aloha

Steve

thanks for the info on the waterfall Steve! :)
did they change it at all, or just clean it up some???
I'll have to check it out when we go in May, we'll be eating at O'hana's anyway! :)

Laura :)

They said they did not change it. They were just working on the pump and some of the mechanics of the fountain, but they may have rearanged some stuff in the tear-down of the pump. I guess we shal see.

Steve

Aloha Steve,

So sorry to hear about Tara's father. :(

I'm sending you a PM, so as not to completely take this thread off topic.

Aloha!

thanks Steve, I'm sure it's going to look all fresh when it's finished! :)

Laura :)
