Polynesian Tower for Polynesian guests

We have a room at Polynesian this week and want to go check out the new tower. Can we use the pool and walk around to explore? Can guests staying at the Polynesian Resort but not in the tower watch fireworks from the Terrace Garden?

Anyone staying anywhere at the Polynesian can use any of the Polynesian pools. You can walk around and explore the tower at ground level, but you can't access the garden terraces on upper floors unless you're staying at the tower.

That said, whilst the elevator does require a room key / MB to access any floors, the actual terraces do not have recently not. So, nothing to stop someone tailgating their way in and up to the terrace levels for fireworks. Not sure if this has happened (yet) though, but I wouldn't be surprised...

Edited to reflect that it is supposed to ask for a keycard, but it has not been working/setup in recent weeks. YMMV

Interesting, I saw a video tour of the tower on YouTube and he definitely had to use his room key to access the terrace. Have there been reports that this changed?

It's definitely supposed to be keycard entry, though seems not currently / not recently. Anyone stayed recently that can confirm if it's in use now? It appeared to not be present in some videos / visits.

We stayed at the Island Tower the weekend of 8 Feb. Keycard/MB weren't needed to access the terrace areas.

Thought as much. I also read today on a Facebook page that people are tailgating into the elevators too so...... it's going to be a free for all, especially with no/minimal CM's around. Le sigh.

I was there in the towers last week and this is 100% happening and it happen to us. It was our first stay in the towers and didn't realize it until after. I could put how they did it, but don't want to advertise it.

I can totally see this becoming a problem at night with no CM's to be seen anywhere near the elevators. Over all the towers are super nice, but it isn't the Polly IMO.
