Never happen. Disney does not destroy a money maker. Poly one of there top selling resorts. That’s why they are updating it.
They don't spend $'s updating to just tear down.
I have stayed there and love the atmosphere at poly and will stay there sometime again. Even if it is not point practical.

We just recently became DVC members at BWV. However, if we had not, our next trip was planned for the Poly. I love this resort. We probably will not stay there anymore because it certainly does not seem like the best way to use our points. This actually became somewhat of a debate between DH and myself. He LOVES the Epcot resorts, walking into Epcot and taking the boat to MGM. While I also like the Epcot resorts, I love being on the monorail line, especially at the Poly. The Poly is pretty popular and they are always refurbishing it. I've never stayed at the CR, just eaten there. I do think the garden wings need some real work. My SIL claims that they build Holiday Inns that are better looking than the garden wings. Every time she's on the monorail she starts complaining about them. The funny thing is a lot of time people around her join in by agreeing with her! I think a new DVC resort there would be wonderful not just for the DVC members but, for everyone's view while passing it on the monorail!
