Polynesian Summer

Ahh, AKL! How I miss your air conditioned lobby! How I miss your secret paths that lead straight to giraffes and gazelles! How I miss your...zebra domes! :rotfl:

I will be most shocked if you dined at Boma and did not eat a zebra dome. They're YUM-O!

Hi, I have been reading all your past TRs for the past few weeks (I prefer to say that to lurking - that does not sound very Disney-ish...) and am excited to read more about your current trip. I thought I already subscribed to this earlier...but :confused3...not sure what happened. I've really enjoyed the way your writing really captures your experiences in such a fun and articulate way.

Can't wait to read more. We're going to be trying out Boma during our next trip, so I'm looking forward to hearing about your meal there!

I'm a newbie to your TR, having only read one-half of this one, and found them to be so sweet! You completely remind me of my daughter... she too has Jane Austen memorized, loves Brit Lit, and find so much joy with Disney!

Looking forward to finishing your TR, and sharing it with my daughter.

Blessings over your Senior year! Such an exciting time! :)

Awesome day. so many resorts - so little time. ;)

I think the mouse in the villas is up under a beam near the fireplace in the big atrium. It may even be up underneath the top of the fireplace. I can't remember, but I know they pointed it out when I took the tour. I stayed in the villas and there was so much great theming that I missed. I guess I need to go back. lol.

I LOVE Boma. Great choice!

Great update! I love Boma! We always plan to eat there once during our trip. This last trip (same time as you were there) we ended up having dinner there 3 times and breakfast 3 times. haha My DD who was 18 months at time decided she was not going to be her usual wonderful self at meals. We made it through meals at Jiko and Cal Grill early in the trip, but barely. We then switched around some reservations and cancelled Yachtsmen and Citrcos since she did much better at buffets where we could control the tempo. Plus she LOVES to eat and loves to eat weird and interesting foods. I think Boma was her fav. Plus it was near our beds over at Kidani. After this trip I think Boma is taking over Jiko's spot as my favorite Disney restaurant.

It's hard to believe that you're a Senior in COLLEGE already! I remember reading your TRs from when you were finishing Senior year in HS! Cah-razy!

Mmm...Boma does look good. We passed it on our way to the pool/Mara almost every day. Mmm...I can taste the zebra domes now!

(And I was ectatic that you can buy zebra domes at the Mara. Out of the 5-pack we got on my birthday, I ate 3... :rolleyes1: )

Note to self to try Boma on next trip!

Even at 7am that Boma food looked so yummy! I agree - if only you had more room, because its impossible to try everything you want to try.

I miss zebra domes. They are one of my favorites, although I would say that all those desserts looked amazing!

We are at Sanaa last trip and it was really wonderful. If you love the African inspired theme and you love good food, give it a try. Even non adventurous eaters can find something delicious there and the cast members were absolutely the best!

I'm glad you enjoyed your meal. I am not an adventurous eater, so I don't think I will be trying Boma. I also am not a dessert eater. Did your whole family like it?

Great Boma pictures...I think that's the most I've ever seen!

It looks amazing. I've never eaten there, but I'm a big Jiko fan, so hopefully I'll get to try it eventually. Much better than CM's!

Pap Chaka Laka has put some song or rhythm in my head that I can't for the life of me place. :confused3 It goes like this (stress on the "pap"s):

Pap chaka laka laka
Pap chaka laka laka
Fu fu! Fu fu!

I realize that probably sounds nuts to anyone who isn't in my head! :rotfl:

My DH is a meat and potatoes guy, not adventurous at all - and LOVED Boma!! He just kept going back to the meat section! He wants to go there every trip now. Last night when I was reading your TR and saw the pictures, he started drooling!!

Just joining in an loving your TR. I didn't know they had ping pong @ Pop and I stayed there in September! I learn something new every day. I can't wait to play some ping pong on my next trip. Looking forward to reading more of your report!!

Love all the pics from Boma. I'm thinking the family is going to have to deal with at least one meal there on our June trip. We're staying at Jambo House anyway......:rolleyes1

I loved Boma and your pictures make me want to be back there right now! So yummy!! What a great day of Disney food!
