Polynesian Room Refurb

I’d love to!! As much as I loved the vintage kitschy feel of the old rooms, my kids would adore this new look. It seems very clean and fresh, too.

Anybody know if ALL the rooms are being updated? Or is it certain buildings or an upgrade?

Since all of the hotel rooms are closed, I would assume they are doing all of them. The DVC rooms are not being refurbished at this time.

Hmm. I would think some people would enjoy the classic Polynesian style rooms without characters. Seems more sophisticated for say a honeymoon trip. Like I said, I’m happy with the new look though!

I think they're amazing looking, but I can't afford 2 rooms for my large family at full price. Poly is on my bucket list for my husband and me for someday when the kids aren't traveling with us anymore.

I loved the old rooms to bits, don’t get me wrong, but “sophisticated” is not the word I’d use to describe 70s kitsch. The new ones are way classier looking imo, even taking the little Hei Hei by the coffee station into account. If you knew nothing at all about Moana, the painting doesn’t look much different than the old one depicting island life, and the mural looks like like interesting cultural decor. Plus accent walls are all the rage in hotel design right now.

When is the front entrance/monorail supposed to be completed?

They have not announced a reopening date for the new station/entrance.

Poly is taking resort reservations 7/19+, but TBD if the monorail station/entrance work will be complete by that point.

I would go with some day prior to Oct. 1st as almost guaranteed.

However it would be nice if it were completed by my selected date of June 13 so I can win my $1,000,000.00 lottery guess. This is for you @GADisneyDad14.

Before July 19th would also be very helpful as that's when the new rooms are showing as available and resort capacity increases.

:rotfl:Every time I envision seeing Hei Hei and his big eyes pre-coffee, I chuckle.

I booked our trip for Feb 2022 before seeing the finished room look and I am SO happy I booked there! It was the first ever resort I stayed at as a kid back in 1995. I can’t wait to stay there again! I love the added Disney IP. For me, if I want non-Disney I’ll just say at our fave all-inclusive resort. But when I go to WDW, I love finding all of the little elements they add.

Want to try it out later this year, but the no monorail thing is putting a damper on my trigger finger on MDE to book it. Hoping that changes soon!

My youngest said no matter what she wanted to stay at the Poly so they're book for September. Hopefully it was be done by then.

It is really not that big a deal to walk to the TTC for the monorail.
