My family is planning a trip down to Walt Disney World on Dec. 1st and leaving Dec. 7th. We usually stay at the Value Resorts but decided that we are tired of the bus thing so we want to stay at the Polynesian. My travel agent sent me a message this morning telling me she did a courtesy hold which is for 3 days. I really do wish she would have told me first that she was sending it as right today i do not have the $200.00 for the deposit but will have on August 4th. Now, she told me the rooms fill up very quickly. She said that when I have the deposit of $200 on the 4 or 5th, she would call and see if they have any rooms facing the Lagoon available. Today is the first day that we could book for the Dec. time, Polynesian , so can anyone tell me what my chances of getting a room facing the Lagoon would be if I waited until Dec. 5th? She kind of left me believe all the rooms like that would be full within a few days. Honestly, I wanted a room facing the MK but when I added it up, it came to about #13,000.00 and I don't think I can afford that. I told her that I wold book a room facing the Lagoon and later on, if something came up and I hit the lottery or something lol, I would upgrade to the rooms facing the MK.
What I really am asking is do all the rooms facing the Lagoon fill up like in a week from now? thank you for all your help.

Today is 499 days from Dec. 7, 2018, which is how far in advance you can book a Disney resort room. Is that why you said that today is the first day that you can book?

I'm confused as to why she is only asking for a $200 deposit. Is this a package reservation? A room-only reservation would require a 1-night deposit, which would be considerably more for Poly.

But to answer your question, if this is for Dec. 2017 then every day from now until Aug. 5 would bring you one day closer to those rooms being sold out during a busy time period. If it's for Dec. 2018, then my guess would be that you can delay until Aug. 5 and still be able to book your theme park view. It's a regular hotel room, not one of the signature suites.

Yes, it's possible the rooms will fill up. There is no way of knowing current availability until you go into the system to look. Nobody here will be able to give you a definitive answer as to what will be available or not. If you can't put a $200 deposit until Aug. 4, just wait and see what's available then. IMHO, there are no bad rooms at Poly so even if only standard or pool view are available, I would take it.

I'm a bit confused to, but in general all resorts book up quickly for December.

Disney's standard policy is a 3 day hold. If I read this correctly, you booked today and 3 days would put you at 30 July. If you then wait until the 2nd to rebook then you would hit your August 4th date. There is no guarantee that the rooms will still be available but it would give you a chance.

I think that you would be fine waiting until August 5th. All the rooms are beautiful - but I know that the LV is beautiful.
