Anyone stayed at the Polynesian lately that can say if the Hawaii building will be finished by Oct 1st???
I know they have Niue and Tonga scheduled to begin rehabs in Sept. So I was wondering if that means they plan on having Hawaii done before those are started.

I am just trying to get an idea how crowded the resort will be when we go Oct 4th. Also what building we may end up in. If Hawaii is done, then Tahiti will re-open to non-concierge, right??
Also, is Samoa now non-smoking?? Didn't it used to be all smoking?

Thanks

The date I heard on another board was October 17th for Hawaii to be done. I am hoping that is the case since we will be doing Poly Concierage on November 8th and I would really like to stay in Hawaii!

Hi turnlisa,

We are also checking in at the Polynesian concierge on Nov. 8th. I am hoping Hawaii is finished by then. It is our first time staying concierge and our second time at the Polynesian. See you there!

When we stayed in Samoa in 2000 it was smoking. I don't know about now. Its a great location, so I'd love to see it go non-smoking (I requested it for the location and was willing to put up with smoking....but the hallways really smelled and so did our room until we aired it out, so I won't do that again!)

We're going to be there Oct 1 - 8, and everything I've seen - Deb's site, Tikiman's site - say the Hawaii rehab won't be done until Oct 17. Maybe they'll have worked out the Concierge at Tahiti bugs by then :p .

The Poly concierge CM's I spoke to when we were there last week all believe that it will be mid-October. There is apparently a possibility that it will be a week earlier, but they are not holding their breath!

Dr Tomorrow,
I would not really say that there are any "bugs" left in the Tahiti concierge. There are certainly some inconveniences that are inherent with that building being used for something that it was not designed for. However, we had a great time and I am sure you will too! :)

hi lisa3 and turnlisa,

we are also checking into Poly concierge on 11/8. I prefer the Hawaii building, and can't wait to get there.

See you there, maybe.

Steve

Well, polymon and lisa3, if you happen to see me, I will be the one who is constantly smiling! It will be my birthday after all!

Hi turnlisa & polyman - This is so great to meet people on this board who will actually be visiting the world at the same time. This is our family's 1st time staying concierge since it will be our 20th anniversary (but I don't think we're considered old-married young). We have three kids (DS 10, DD 8 and DS 7) who love the Polynesian (they're just a little spoiled (LOL). I am hoping they don't hit any snags in the construction and that they are back in Hawaii when we arrive. We have a GV booked right now but are waiting on AP rates to see if it is at all possible to upgrade to LV. We will be there for 10 nights (our longest ever) and are driving from NJ. I will also be smiling since I will be in my favorite place on earth!
