We are staying at the Poly for 8 nights starting 9/13/03 in a garden view room. I would have loved to do lagoon view or concierge but its not in the budget at this time. Anyway, I am trying to research my room requests and am considering the following:

First choice: Tokelau rooms ending in 911-918 for their semi-lagoon views, also all rooms in this building have patio or balcony, centally located between GCH and TTC.

Second choice: Aoteoroa rooms 1223-1229 or 3225-3229, also for their semi-lagoon views, patio or balcony, and proximity to less-used beach.

Third choice: Fiji rooms on 3rd floor, for the views of marina or luau cove, also close to less-used beach.

We are 2 adults, 32 and 37, no kids. Noise is not really a consideration since we dont plan to be napping during the day and we will probably be out till fairly late at night. I realize that room requests are just that and not guaranteed, but I figure it wont hurt if I call and fax my requests in.

What are your thoughts on these rooms?

I am sorry to bump but I really need some input on this. I have not stayed at the Poly since 1988 and am not sure what I should request. Thanks everyone!

I just stayed there a few months ago and really enjoyed it. For some reason the search engine on this site has been disabled, so I can't give you the exact room number I stayed in, but I believe it was Tokelau 1912. The room was second from the end of the hallway. It was considered a "garden" view. It had a patio and the view was amazing. I had a view of the lagoon and of the Grand Floridian. It was a few steps to the beach area, next to the quiet pool, a quick walk to the main pool & building and about a 5 minute or so walk to the TTC. You definitely want this building!!! The room was very quiet and beautiful. This is a non-smoking building.

If you can, grab a hammock or lounge chair on the beach and watch the Electrical Water Parade. It's cute. Also, if fireworks are being shot off over the MK and you don't want to be in the MK to view them, then again, grab a seat and watch them from the beach. Also, if you've got the time, rent a couple of water mice and have a blast. You can go all over the MK lagoon, as well as over to the WL.

The only complaint I had were the buses to DTD & AK. I found them to be a little slow at times and they share them with the Contemporary & GF & WL.

Don't forget to get the free refill mug. This is a great resort and I ended up there by chance. I had a ressie at the CBR, but it was closed for renovations, so I got bumped to the Polynesian.

FYI. The monorail begins at 7am to the MK resorts & MK. The monorail does not begin at the TTC to EPCOT until 7:30am (even on EE days). The gates to the TTC open at 7am.

Hope this helps!!

Well, I can't help too much since I haven't been to the Poly before. However, we are heading there on Sat and I am hoping for a nice GV room in Tokelau myself. It sounds like you already have checked out Tikiman's site since you have the room number info.

I am hoping for Tokelau , highest floor and close to the lagoon. 3915 is actually right next to a LV room and offers a great view. Since there is no guarantee I am just hoping we get a nice view.

HTH!
