We are thinking about a trip to Disney. We have narrowed are choices to either Beach Club or Polynesian. The travelers are a brother and sister. We are looking at Spring 2017. Thanks.
They are both fantastic resorts. You are going to get a lot of different opinions on this but it would be helpful to know more about your interests, plan for vacation, favourite park, and expectations in order to give more accurate opinions for what might be best for you.
Our trip this year was between those 2, and we ended up booking Beach Club for the proximity to Epcot and DHS and Stormalong Bay. I think next year we are finally going to book Polynesian! I just love the whole Epcot resort area. The BC rooms are so new and fresh now, and they look gorgeous. There is something really relaxing about Polynesian. The atmosphere and theming is so spot on. You can't go wrong with either resort. Both are great in their own ways.

My choice would be the Poly as we prefer the atmosphere/location/pool over the BC. We also find a better variety of dining options (both CS & TS) around the monorail, we love the relaxing tropical surroundings, and it doesn't get any better (IMO) than seeing the castle every day. With that said, both are nice resorts so I'm you'll have a great time at either one, so I'd choose the one that theme/decor appeals to you the most. Good luck.
I would definitely pick the Polynesian. We have stayed at BC and really do love being in the Epcot area, but the Polynesian is just gorgeous. I have been wanting to stay there since I was 7 years old, and over the past 4-5 years have wanted to book it but haven't due to various construction projects, etc... In the meantime, we've explored many of Disney's other fabulous resorts for which I am grateful, but next year, we are finally staying at the Polynesian and I am so stinking excited!!!
Two adults? Poly. Better theming, good restaurants, great access to MK and Epcot (made even better by the TTC being within walking distance).
Had similar choice this year, difference in price for me between YC/BC and Poly was $20/night. Normally the price difference is large enough, I don't consider the Poly, but this made it a tough choice. Went with YC/BC because my DS(9) is the perfect age to get the most out of SAB. If he were older or younger, we would have booked Poly. A great plus about the Beach Club is 10-minute walk to the World Showcase, the park feels like a hotel amenity.
BTW, what I realized was there is no wrong choice, both great places.
I love both, but I prefer BC slightly. The pool and location sway me to the BC. The monorail is great, but you can't beat the ability to walk to 2 parks. The refurbished rooms at both resorts are wonderful, but the BC rooms are in slightly better shape. It may also have to do with the fact that the BC is the first deluxe I've ever stayed at and fell in love! DH prefers the Poly but I'm convinced it's only for the Shrunken Zombie Head at Trader Sam's...

This really just comes down to which resort theme you prefer and whether you'd rather have quick access to the monorail loop/MK vs. Epcot/DHS. The Boardwalk area has a more adult vibe if you're interested in going out at night, plus you're able to drink along the World Showcase. The pool at the BC is amazing as well, although the Poly theme and MK view is just as amazing. You can't go wrong (these are two of my favorite resorts) but, like the first poster mentioned, we'd need to know more about your preferences to definitively say which would be the better choice.
