Polynesian or Animal Kingdom Lodge?

If you're spending most of your time at the MK and EPCOT, trust me, you WANT to stay at the Polynesian. When I was there in August, we spent most of our time at the MK and EPCOT and the monorail was a godsend! The kids actually groaned when we had to take the bus to MGM. It was literally a pain in the butt.

I wouldn't vote for a split stay but that's me. I don't like unpacking only to re-pack again.

I love the AKL as well and I am staying there in December but we're usually all over WDW for Christmas and spend a good amount of time at AK at that time. But in the summers when we're doing MK and EPCOT, the Poly is our resort of choice.

I'd do the poly. There is nothing better then walking off the monorail with a sleeping child and just heading to your room. No hassel with parking the car, opening and closing the stroller, gathering up everything, etc.
Plus you said that the 2 major theme parks will be Mk and Epcot. Right on the monroail loop!

You alway pay for convenience! This would be an example of that.

no split stay! just the thought of moving 2 infants and 3 more people around would make me tired!

Poly for me too! It is awesome and the convenience is soooo worth it.

13 days sound just about perfect. 8 was way way to short to see/do everything we wanted/tried to fit in. rooms at Poly are just a tad bigger too so with 5 in a room, that is nice. we were upgraded to concierge and I almost turned it down b/c I wanted the extra space in one of the newer longhouses! seriously.

AKL would be my second choice too!

I ended up voting for the Poly, even if it means you need to stay less nights. We usually stay 8 nights andI think 1 more day or 2 would be perfect. My DH is done and ready to leave after 8 nights though .

We love both of these resorts.

The POLY is my absolute favorite. If you wanted to choose just one, then it would be the POLY for us.

However, I tend to agree with the majority here, since you have 13 nights I would split the stay.

$1000 more for a 13 night trip? That's only about $76 per night difference.

No brainer! STAY AT THE POLYNESIAN!!!!

I just want to put in my $0.02 about the rooms at the Poly. I wasn't too impressed by the photos I saw of them, either. In fact, I was very skeptical, as they looked dark and uncoordinated to me. Trust me, they are really gorgeous, and photographs do not do them justice at all!

I've never stayed at AKL, but I can say that for us, the Polynesian is magical!
