We're arriving on Sat afternoon staying at the Polynesian and thought we might try to book the Luau early in the evening, then watch the fireworks at the beach & electric water parade. We'll be there late Sept (the 27th). Anyone know the times of the show(s), the fireworks or the parade? Can fireworks or parade be seen from Luau? What is the Luau cost? Is the food good, etc.? Thanks, Pyedog

The Luau has been revamped recently, so there may be new aspects to it that not too many people will have experienced yet.

We have been twice, once we really enjoyed it and the second time was not so good (both times were before the refurb). I'd say it is an experience to try at least once.

The price runs in the $40 to $50 range for adults, less for kids. No doubt the restaurant menu links here will help.

Have a great time!

We are going to the new Luau in July! There are 2 shows 5:15 and 8. We are going to the early show, then off we go to the beach to see the EWP and fireworks!!

The Electrical Water Pageant at the Polynesian is always at 9:00 all year long every night unless the weather is too bad. Since it's a Sat. there will most likely be fireworks but the schedule won't be out for a while.

Enjoy your trip...the Polynesian is magical!:D

Yes, We were there in March and really enjoyed it. It didn't hurt that we booked 8 months out and were seating front and center. My boys (7&10) really enjoyed the fire dancing. Even though I wouldn't do it every time, it is worth it at least once.

You can't see the water parade.

We just did the Luau on May 8th for the first time and we really enjoyed it. My 2 1/2 yoa dd loved dancing up at the front of the stage and on stage afterwards. We were too into our dinner during the part where they get the kids up on stage. Dinner was very good. Well, I can only attest to the salad, bread, ribs, rice, and veggies. I didn't try the chicken or the dessert. My husband is very picky about doing things like this and he was pretty sceptical before hand, but afterwards he said that he would like to go again. I think my favorite part is when they did all of the different warrior dances.

WHat kind of food would be there for vegetarians? My daughter doesn't eat meat. How long does this last?

They give the kids mac & cheese .... I don't know what else was on the kids menu other than chicken nuggets. We were there as part of a wedding rehearsal dinner so we didn't order for our daughter my SIL did.
