Hi! I am planning a trip for my boyfriend and I to Disneyworld for November 3-8 (It's his first trip and my second!) I am interested in going to a dinner show, but I was wondering if the shows might be too "kiddy?"

If you think a dinner show would be fun for two adults, would you recommend the Hoop Dee Doo Revue or the Polynesian Luau?

If you don't think a dinner show is good idea, I would love to hear your opinions/experiences.

Thanks to everyone!

By all means do a dinner show!!
We preferred the Luau, but it is a matter of personal taste. I thought the Luau was very well done and quite beautiful :-)
HDD wasn't our taste (too corny) but it gets high praises from others.
I think these kinds of things have to be experienced.
Enjoy!! :)
Neither are too "kiddy". Many, many adults only attend them.
(But then we ARE all kids at WDW)

We've done both. And we like the Hoop De Doo better. The Luau was neat, but after awhile it got a little old. And not everyone liked the food. However the food at Hoop was great, and the show was funny for kids and adults. They get the audience involved through out the show. It's a fun time, we've done it 3 times now! :D

I have been to both and I consider the Luau to be much more for adults. I personally loved the food and the show and it was a delightful evening. I think that children would be bored out of their minds at the Luau.

The Hoop Dee Doo was a really great laugh a minute show but I didn't care for the food at all. The crowd at the Hoop Dee Doo was also much more kid populated. But I still wouldn't consider it a "kiddie show".

I think that you all would enjoy either show :)

I have done both shows ovr the years and the early shows for both have more kids than the later shows. I prefer the Hoop Dee Doo more myself. I like the corniness better. You should have a great time time no matter which one you choose. I refer to do the later shows myself. Have a great time.:D

Okay, I definitely need to plan another solo trip just to experience Hoop de doo and the Luau since I've never been to either one. It's great reading everyone else's opinion :)

I did enjoy Ohana's solo, though. Watched the MK fireworks from the dining room--it was awesome.

I like the luau. I went to the later show, arrived early, and sat near the water at the Polynesian and watched the fireworks over the MK while I waited. My only complaint was that I felt too crowded. It was a wonderful show.

Been to both but prefer the Luau. Going again in a couple weeks! Last time we got there early. They made braided leave bracelets for the girls and temp tattoos for the guys. Watch it though if you opt for the tattoo - I got hot, wiped my brow with my white shirt sleave and never got it out! Ruined a brand new D shirt:(

I would do the Lula, it is a lot of fun. We sat at the front table and had a great time. we enjoyed the food and the show.
