Polynesian Long Houses

Hello all

My family is going to WDW in December and are staying at the Polynesian. I know they don't gaurantee to give you your choice of rooms but it never hurts to ask. My Grandfather who is traveling with us has a problem with walking distances does any one know the best long house with regaurds to proximity to the Grand Cerimonial House and the Monorail.

I'd ask for Raratonga. It is very close to the GCH and its elevator to the 2nd floor where you catch the monorail and also very close to the bus stop.

I would ask that it be noted why you are requesting a room close to the GCH, too.

definitely Raratonga! We were in room 1829 in Raratonga a couple of weeks ago and it was SOOOOO convenient. We were the 2nd room on the 1st floor so it was literally steps to the GCH. Considering that this was a trip where one of my girlfriends and I left the husbands at home and went with just our kids so we had 2 adults, 2 four year olds and 2 two year olds, convenience was a BIG thing for us.

You can't get closer to the monorail, the bus stop is just around the corner for non-monorail parks, it's close to the pool and all the restaurants. Can't beat it for convenience!

Another vote for Rarotonga. We were on the 1st floor in Sept. facing the quiet pool and loved it!!!
