Polynesian?Late checkout/daily concierge?

Hi Everyone. I was wondering if the Polynesian ever gave late checkouts? We have a late check out on our last day and it would make it nice to have extra time in our room. Also, I read that the WL offers concierge paying by the day? Has anyone heard of that at the Poly? In other words, I think you have your regular room, but pay a fee for the concierge? Anyone hear of this?

I have calle down tothe front desk early on the day we are to check out and gotten a late check pretty much every time we needed it. A late check out at DW isn't very late only 1PM but if you are willing to pay for half your room rate they may extend it until 5PM. I heard that from someone once. I have never done it. 1PM was late enough fo us.

We've been able to get 1PM check out a few times - perhaps 60% of the time. Anything beyone that would involve $$$. We're told that it depends on capacity. If there's a lot of guests checking in and the resort is pretty full, they want to be able to turn the room over quickly.

This doesn't apply to any of the DVC properties -- they're very firm on 11 AM checkout.

We had a late checkout when we stayed. I think 1 is the latest they can do. As far as the concierge stuff, the Polynesian use to be that the lagoon view rooms in any of the buildings could be concierge if you paid the extra. This was back when the concierge lounge was not in the Hawaii longhouse but in the GCH. I just found this out not too long ago from someone here.
