Polynesian in August

My wife and I have three boys, ages 8, 5, and 3. We will be at the Polynesian from August 3-9 (we leave the 10th for AKV). If you have kids and want to swim or just let them get their energy out with kids around their age, let me know. We are APs, so we plan on doing parks almost every day, but at a very relaxed speed and specific park days are flexible.

WDW in August means a late afternoon thunderstorm every day. Be prepared to hunker down for 15-30 minutes each day.

Thank you for your replies so it would be sunny and warm in the morning then a shower in the afternoon? How long do they last? And if there is a hurricane heo many days does the bad weather last?

The afternoon showers are usually pretty short, 30-45 min but the rain can be pretty hard sometimes with some lightning. And afterward when the sun comes blazing out it’s like a sauna. Make no mistake, late September is still fully summer in central Florida.

If there’s a hurricane it can be anything from moderate rain for a day or 2, to powerful storms with strong winds that force them to close the parks and the airport. Depends on the severity of the hurricane and the path it takes.

Could definitely ruin a vacation, but it he odds of a severe storm hitting during a given week are pretty small statistically. We’ve gone the last 2 weeks of September at least 10 times and been pretty lucky with good weather. We were there at that time for the start of the 50th in 2021 for 9 days and never saw a drop of rain. It’s a crapshoot though.

We live in Australia so heat tolerance is probably different I have been at wdw in mid October /early Nov before and there was probably only two days in which we felt it was warm enough to swim. It should be plenty warm to swim in September. Yeah a hurricane would affect things for 2-3 days. Strong enough storms to close the parks are pretty rare, I wouldn't worry about that too much. Another good thing about September is it's usually the slowest time of year for crowds. We love going in September, we will be there Sep 23-30 this year can't wait!

Oh, you'll have no problem with the weather being hot enough to swim. I'd plan on about 90+ degrees (32-33C, and possibly up to 35C) and about 1,537% humidity.

Stop with the hyperbole. The humidity rarely gets above 900%
