Which longhouse would you suggest for a garden view at the Polynesian? I was just looking at tikiman's site and it looks like Niue and Raratonga are the closest garden view longhouses to the great ceremonial house but I'm not sure. Which would you suggest and why?

Hi Cindy,

We stayed in a GV two years ago in the Samoa Building. In fact before check in me and my DD's went to look to request a particular room while my DW was in line. We requested and got room 1610. At the time we thought it possibly could have been a LV room.

It was great...ground floor....end of the building nearest the Lagoon...with a direct view of the Volcano Pool and the Marina. The Volcano Pool was literally 15 yards from our room!

Good Luck..I hope this helps.

none of the longhouses are really a "long" walk back to the GCH. We stayed in Tokelau thanks to Tikiman's site and suggestions. We were close to the TTC and a short walk to the GCH, of course, during out last night there we found the "shortcut", figures doesn't it??

We stayed in Figi facing the marina. We were on the 3rd floor and could see the back of the volcano pool, the contemporary and monorail as well as a large portion of the lake. It was a great viwe for a GV and could not see a garden at all;)

I requested Fiji as well and we had a view of the marina, 'Ohana, the volcano and the Contemporary and space mountain in the distance. On the otherside you can have views of the beach, lagoon and GF in the distance as well as the Luau Building and if on the first floor you will have views of lawns and gardens. It is a quick two minute walk to the main building.

Aortearora is also a good choice. You'll either have a monorail or partial water view, and it is in a very quiet location. ;)

I would strongly recommend Tokelau, where I stayed last November. I believe the rooms in that longhouse had been refurbed recently and ours was certainly spacious. I cannot remember the room #, although we were on the ground floor very close to the main entrance of the longhouse. Although we were paying for a garden view room, we had a view of the Contemporary, lagoon, and TTC from our balcony. Once walking out a few steps, the Grand Floridian and Cinderella castle were visible. We could see the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant from the lawn right outside the room. I also loved having those fire tikis outside our room late at night. While this house was farther from the GCH, it only took a couple minutes to walk there and to the main pool. I believe the quiet pool was just next door. The room was spotless and everything very comfortable. We simply requested for a water view and received this room upon check-in. Regardless, no matter the longhouse, have a wonderful time.
