Polynesian and new room decors?

A while back there was a thread that the Polynesian is getting new room decor.

Any news on when this will begin or plans on when it will be completed?

I have never had any desire to stay there as the room decor really did not appeal to me but a new room decor would be interesting to see

There is a description of the changes but I was asked not to take photos. There is a photo of the new patio work and you can see the new drapes in the background. If you did not like the old decore (which is very Polynesian) you may not like the new. It actually seems more toward what the AKL looks like. The room will seem more up to date and the different furniture and taking down the matt above the bed will make the already big room seem larger but the colors I saw were dark. I don’t mind it but I don’t know what others will think. If you don’t like the Polynesian theme than I would not suggest you go to the Polynesian.

When they start the rooms the whole building will not be closed. They will do a few rooms at a time with the building open. This has been done when they changed the decore in the mid 90’s and I never even noticed they were doing work right near our room.

They will begin at the beginning of 2005.

I was told that the new decor would be Colonial Polynesian and as Tikiman stated the decor and furnishings would be darker in coloring.
