Going April 19th for 4 for the first trip with hubby alone since the kids were born.
We will go to parks but low key.
Want to enjoy the resort and relax some as well.
With the construction, would you recommend the Poly still?

I haven't been there since September but enjoyed the Poly then. I am not very hard to please however, and seldom notice details. If it's warm, sunny, and at WDW I'm usually happy.

We were just there and it seemed great. Very uncrowded and the construction was not around the dvc long houses. Everything in the lobby was open. Just the monorail station was closed, which is a bummer. We walked to the MK, which was such a pleasant walk.

I mean, what is the "it?"

What are the other options? What are you hoping for? None of the resorts have deep menus at QS right now, for instance.

Worth it is kind of subjective. So with context, if you're going April 19th what are the alternatives?

Is it worth going vs not going? I think so.
Is it worth going compared to going to Jambo? Maybe...not much there either.
Is it worth going vs staying at say BCV where you have some walkable access to food? Probably not.

But it would also be irrelevant if it's not available now for your trip. So it kind of depends.

HI- the alternatives are Saratoga Springs on points or the Swan- cash. It is a lot of points for a studio, but I think we are going to keep it. Just wanted some assurance the construction wouldn't be a big deal. It has the availibily because of the construction (I think). Thanks everyone

How old are the kids. We have noticed less activities at the resorts since covid, but still enjoyable.

I'm a big fan of the rain shower, separate from the other bathroom, they have in the rooms. I can sit in that for 20 minutes (and no one will be pounding on the door to use the toilet). That can make the extra points worth it for me.

We're staying there in June as well. Back in October we stayed at GF Villas and walked over to the Poly for different food options. Loved walking the grounds with almost no one around.

We visited the resort while we were there (stayed at BCV). Unless you have your heart set on Ohana's it seems very worth it. It seemed very uncrowded, all pools were open, main shop and market was open, Pineapple Lanai was open (really what is important)...

From the DVC villas the walk to the TTC to catch the monorail is just as close if not closer than the Poly station and you can jump the express line. So the lack of monorail station should seem notable. When we stayed there we chose TTC over the Poly station intentionally.

I mean, as far as it looked, the only things you'd not get are:
- Ohana's
- Trader Sam's
- Poly monorail station

Seemed worthwhile given the lack of other guests and the access to the other monorail resorts for restaurants and such. The Wave has become a new favorite of ours.

Great! Happy to hear this! We will be there in 9 days and I was a bit worried after getting an email from Disney about all the construction there. The email said the front desk was moved to the Pago Pago building. That had me very concerned that lots of things in the Great Ceremonial House would be closed.
