first im like OK we are goin back to the poly ! then im like id really like to try WL ...Then i keep thinking about how beautiful the AKL was ...Hubbie loves the poly ... So thats where he wants to stay... He says he doesnt want to go back to AKL b/c of the transportation but i really didnt find the transportation that bad :confused3 He likes having moe options then a bus ...
So what would you guys decide?

Based on your photo, your DK looks much younger than mine. If money was no object and my DKs were still in that same age group, I would chose a monorail resort. Having stayed at the Poly twice (and trying WL for our first time in April), this would always be my choice; great themeing and ultimate convenience in the same package.

That was from our last trip she is 3 y/o now... by the trip in sept she will be edging 4 her bday is in november

My vote is also for the Poly. You can't beat having the monorail right there. It is so nice to watch Wishes from the beach area with an unobstructed view of the castle. We loved it even more than AKL...But I know this isn't what you want to hear.

First, I must confess that the Poly is my favorite themed deluxe at WDW. Having said that, it also has a number of tangible benefits for your family.

It is a monorail resort. That means quick on and off for the MK. When our DKs first went to WDW at 5 and 7 (off-site stay), they tired out by around 2 and the rest of the day (and evening) was more like triage than touring. By the time we next went, we stayed at the Poly. Now we could plan for an early start, an easy 10 minute ride back for naps and pool in the mid-afternoon, and then back to the parks by 3. It changed everything. Plus, the TTC is less than a 10 minute walk from the Poly, so we could get anywhere else in WDW very easily.

We did not use it, but the Neverland Club is available for you and your husband to get some time alone. But even if you just want to enjoy a romantic walk on the beach (with a shared Lapu Lapu) or a great dinner at Artist's Point at WL or V&A at GF, you can easily get babysitting at the Poly.

It is just my opinion based upon my experience. But for so many reasons, the Poly wins hands down for me.

I've stayed at the Poly and at AKL. I loved AKL and didn't find the bus transportation to be that bad.

However, I did love the ease of getting to MK and Epcot from the Poly and I liked the Poly theme just a little more than AKL. I would pick Poly again, as can be seen in my signatur. I will say that I was a little let down by the bus transportation at the Poly to get to DHS, AKL and Downtown Disney. There just didn't seem to be adequate number of busses for a deluxe resort.

I've stayed at the Poly and the AKL as well. I didn't find the bus situation at the AKL to be that bad at all. The only problem we ran into was how long it took to get dropped off at the MK. It wasn't the transit time, it was waiting in the line of buses to get into the bus depot for the MK. It wasn't a deal-breaker and we never waited more than 20 minutes for a bus-and this was if we walked up as one was taking off.

I love the Poly theme and I've stayed there twice but I like the AKL theming as well. The Poly gets an edge because of where it's located and of course, the monorail. ;)

Haven't stayed at the WL and don't have much as a desire to. It looks too much like 'home'.

My vote is for any of the monorail resorts with young kids. Mine are 9, 7 and 6 and I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere other then the monorail resorts..since we spend so much time in the MK. The buses aren't bad BUT if I had to use them for every park I wouldn't be happy..to much time would be waisted. I stayed at The Poly in November and we liked it...we are going back and staying at The Contemporary in a MK view in August..I like where it is located and we are surprising the kiddies..so I wanted a different resort..have fun! ;)

I've stayed at all three, and my favorite is the Poly. Nothing is better than Tonga Toast in the morning before jumping on the monorail. :worship:

But if you've already stayed there and are interested in a change of scenery, you could try WL. It's awesome, and you have the boat to MK as a change from the buses. We stayed at AKL this past October, and while it was definitely nice, I still like WL better. Maybe I'm just a MK resort kind of girl. :rotfl:

Have fun deciding! :goodvibes

I've stayed at all three and the Poly has my allegiance, especially with a preschooler.

I am (STILL) trying to decide betewen the GF & Poly... it seems like the Poly supporters are the most vocal bunch! My DD will be 3, so it seems like we are in a similar situation! I think the AKL looks great, but we nixed it for location/transportation reasons. And the WL reminds me too much of my parents house in the woods and all my childhood trips to Gaitlenburg!

I've stayed at all 3, and enjoyed all 3. My favorite WDW resort is the Polynesian. I recommend it for these reasons: larger rooms (Polynesian rooms are MUCH larger than WL and AKL rooms), boat AND monorail to Magic Kingdom, short walk/trail to TTC to the monorail to Epcot, beautiful theming (although I think all 3 themes are great), excellent viewing of "Wishes" fireworks show every night from the beach.

P.S. I didn't think that the transportation at AKL was bad either, but NOTHING beats the monorail and boat transportation at the Polynesian :thumbsup2

this past week, everytime I took the bus to MK, it was 8 minutes from the AKL to the bus drop off at the MK and back the other way! I used there digital clocks they had with the date on them at the front of the bus!

It was really, really quick!

ITA w/everything SeaSpray said. The Poly is our family favorite for so many reasons!! :goodvibes

Well i finally decided and we are booked from sept 7-13th we finally got a 40% off code and we went with the poly I AM SO EXCITED!!!
