I plan to get all AK on them and say "Jambo!" to the Aloha.
I stayed at the AKL and never once said, "Jambo". I did say hello. I never even really thought about it. I'm from Hawaii and usually just say hello back when someone says Aloha to me. I do use common every day words and phrases, Mahalo is one I use all the time. If you're not comfortable with it I really don't think it's a big deal. Aloha is in your heart, how you say it doesn't really matter.
