Poly... What building would you stay in and why?

missypie - Are you arriving that late because you are driving? We are kinda of planning a similar arrival time but I just can't get it out of my head that I will be spending so much for a day that I won't really be there. I have toyed with the idea of driving a day earlier and staying someplace cheap about an hour away and then checking in nice and refreshed early the next morning........anybody have any thoughts or suggestions?

Two of my kids are in high school. They take a separate attendance for each class, so if you take them out of school early, say last period, it's as if they missed a whole day. SO, I was thrilled to find a flight that would let them all go to a full day of school, and still arrive on Friday night. We are in Texas, so we lose and hour. Our flight arrives at 9:30 pm....assuming it's on time, which can be iffy on Friday nights. I don't want to think about having to pay all that money for such a "short" first night...but I'm thinking about it as just part of the trip. We are very much "get to the park at least 30 minutes before rope drop" people, so we wanted to be all checked in on the first night.

We drive down and usually make our arrival in Orlando the night before our official Disney reservations then head to the hotel (usually poly) and get our tickets, etc. sometimes our room is ready and sometimes it isn't, either way we have park tickets and a place to stash the luggage as early as we want on day #1

Lots of votes for Samoa, but I thought I read that it used to be a smoking building. I have two kids prone to asthma. Can anyone verify this?

What about Tokelau?

We stayed at Tokelau and requested it again. Its right next to the quiet pool, close enough to GCH and the bus stop and closer to TTC, if necessary, than other long houses. I would put it about quidistant from GCH, bus stop and beach. Also, from our room we could look off the side of our balcony and see the beach and some of the fireworks.

You can also get some good reviews and pictures on tikiman's site (although I forgot the address if you google tikiman and polynesian nd disney you should find it. THe site has "homestead" in it).
