Poly vs Wyndham Bonnet Creek

i am debating whether or not to stay at poly in August 2016 or go with Bonnet Creek and do something totally different. I'm afraid being in one room and being in queen sized beds don't work for our family of 4'anymore based on our last vacation a week ago. My main concern is the transportation to the parks. I'm thinking this time go for a waterpark and more option as we have never done the water parks before due to cost if we decide on staying at Bonnet Creek and if so how far of a,drive are the two water parks from the condos, how much is it for parking as we will have our own car. How,far is it to the other Disney parks as well and is there a lot of traffic in the mornings to get to the parks. We aren't rope droppers so being late isn't an issue. I know BC has a shuttle, how good are they do they run hourly and is the 6.00 charge per person per day good for many round trips per day or just one?

Is the changeover worth it in the long run even though we won't have Disney transportation. Moneywise and bigger living space is great though. Has anyone done both onsite and offsite?

I've done both! It is a totally different vacation, but I've loved doing both.
There is no charge to park at the water parks. I am not sure how much it is to park at the theme parks, but it's maybe $17 or so? You can choose to valet park at resorts for a little more.
The bigger space is appealing. It's no fun if you can't get sleep!
I'd look at using Uber or taxis rather than driving or the shuttle.

Bonnet Creek is next to TL. If you purchase an AP you won't have to pay for parking. (You would just need 1, not ap's for everybody. So do the math. Currently parking is $17 per day.)

My family of 5 (mom, dad, and 3 adult age kids) has stayed at the Poly twice and Bonnet Creek once. We are headed back to the Poly in Nov. This upcoming trip will be our 8th trip to the world, we have also stayed in Mods and Values. I agree with the pp, it is a completely different vacation. If it were up to me I would stay at a Disney resort every time, but the rest of my family loved WBC. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath Pres suite, so it was very nice. As far as being cramped into one room, I kind of like that, it forces us to spend family time together. At WBC, it was like being at home, we had plenty of room to spread out, living room is huge, plus dinning area and kitchen. Having the extra bathroom was great. We were there 9 nights and I think we paid $1700, so it is a bargain compare to the Poly. But you don't have that magical feel, and the monorail to hop on. It is also a huge resort, and it feels like it. Even the large Disney resort have a quaint feel to them. While at WBC we rented a car, did not want to rely on their shuttle, I don't think I would stay there without renting one. I would recommend it, especially if you know there will be another WDW trip down the road that you can return to a Disney resort if you prefer.

Thanks for your responses. I will also look into the ap

1gr8disneyfan, I was looking at the presidential suite as compared to the regular 2 bedroom which is a $400 difference. Is it worth the extra cost being in tower 6 I believe the tower number is. Is the pool area nicer and access better to anything

I believe the Pres suite is much nicer and larger. To me it was worth the extra $. If I was not going to stay at Disney, I was going to make sure it was nice. And as I commented before, even the Pres suite is a lot less $ than the Poly. We did stay in building 6, so I can't comment on the others since we stayed in our area except for venturing to the lazy river a couple of times. I believe there are a few Pres suites scattered around the resort in other buildings, but when we stayed there 4 years ago, building 6 was fairly new so I did request that and got it. There are some good videos on You Tube of the Pres suites and delux so you can really get a feel for the difference. Someday when my daughters are finally married, and we take daughters and their spouses to WDW, we will stay at WBC, but will most definitely stay in a Pres, I think the 4 bedroom would be a great option.

Thanks for the info! Yes I know it's still cheaper than the poly so in a way I don't mind spending the little extra. I was quoted $1600 for August 2016 2 bed presidential as there was a percentage off and looking at other quotes for that suite that is the cheapest I had gotten from vrbo. Ok I thought they were just in tower 6 so I will have the request that one.
