Anyone ever receive an upgrade from GV concierge to LV concierge? or an upgrade to concierge?

Just curious....

I had read on this board of people who had so on our last trip I was really hoping to be upgraded to LVC - it didn't happen and it was even our 20th Anniversary. I know I shouldn't have been dissappointed but I was especially after I came back and found people on these boards again who had been given the upgrade during our stay. I have to say that I am not the type of person to ask for an upgrade.

We are now taking a very unexpected trip in September and I went back and forth on this issue for some time and finally booked LVC. I was also not happy with our room location last time so this time I am studying up on where we would like to be and having it noted in our requests. For some reason the pixie dust just does not land on me so I am making my own magic this trip.

We weren't upgraded for my 40th birthday in early Dec. This is slow season and they weren't booked in concierge. Nothing special was done and it wasn't expected.

During our trip in November, we were celebrating my birthday and my DS's 7th birthday. During the course of getting everything planned, the planners mixed up one of our dinner reservations for my DS's birthday. We were booked in GV concierage. When we checked in (really early!), we were put in a LV concierage. When I asked during check-in how we were lucky enough to get upgraded, Kathy replied with a wink, "Sometimes magic just happens...." Definitely made my day! Good luck!

Good luck. Once we stayed at the poly 3 times in one year, this was only due to my dh having alot of business in fl. one year. We never got an upgrade. I never expect anything and nothing magical ever happens. We make our own magic in our nice cheap garden view room, which we hardly spend any time in anyway. If I get our longhouse request , then I consider that magical. Once we didnt and last aug. we got exactly what I wanted. Having a nice cm, checking in early and me standing in front of the cm with my asthmatic son and explaining his situation helped alot. Sorry, but I dont feel anyone at the poly goes too much out of the way to make you feel magical and special., no towel animals, etc. I dont expect it. That is why in aug, we also stayed at the swan and this april we stayed at the swan too for a much cheaper price than the poly, but the poly is still our favorite resort.

Lisa3,

I agree with you. I have booked a Poly LVC for our 25th wedding anniversary on December 1. We are staying 7 nights. I would love a free (or reduced price) upgrade, but I would be too disappointed if I did not receive it. I do not want to gamble on such a big anniversary! I did receive the AAA rate, but for just the two of us (our 2 kids are grown-yeah!) we will not get our moneys worth in a conventional sense, however, we have never stayed concierge OR lagoon view so this will be very special. Also it is a suprise for my husband. Told him I booked Poly regualr garden view. Sometimes you have to splurge! I known I am paying alot but I will not be disappointed!

We were upgraded from GV concierge to LV in 2/03. It was a total surprise- they didn't even mention it. As we were walking down the hall, I realized our room number was on the lagoon side but I didn't mention it to my family until we got in the room. We all stood and stared at the castle for a good long while!

We're going again on friday but in a regular GV room. Bcs it's a busier season, I doubt we'd get one this time.
