ok guys, I know Tikiman and others have posted lots of info on this but I'm on info overload so my brain isn't able to process all these threads anymore  We are going to be at the poly one night before we move to the bc. This will be on 12/20. We have never stayed at the poly and I am very excited! We are driving from PA and will be traveling all day and then going to MVMCP until Midnight (If we can make it that long!) Soooo, what I think I would like to request in my fax is a nice room, non-smoking, with a balcony and close to where we can catch the monorail (I imagine we will be carrying my 6 yr old back from the MK). We have a standard view, but would like a nice view with some water if possible. Anyone have any suggestions for rooms or buildings to request? If our arrival is 12/20 then I should fax on Monday, 12/16 - right? Does anyone have the fax number handy without me having to do a search? Thanks so much, you guys are great!:D

Just got back from the Poly - don't have the fax number handy, but I will let you know I did not have much luck in my building request. I asked for non-smoking connecting rooms (granted) and I also asked that my next request be first floor (anywhere). I then asked if possible to be in either Niue or the beach end of Tokelau. I stressed that my Dad was using a scooter which is hard to manuever into most elevators and that he does not go to the parks for very long each day and returns to the resort to read, so a patio or balcony was very important to us. I faxed a very nice letter 4 days ahead (and also mentioned we would not be arriving until after 7pm so it was even more important to have rooms blocked out for us) - we arrived on Sunday 12/1 and ended up in Rarotonga (next to GCH) on the second floor with no balcony. I asked at the front desk about a first floor room and then called again when I realized we didn't even have a balcony and said as long as we didn't get first floor and had to deal with elevators was there any way we could get a balcony room but we totally struck out. The elevator in our building was hard to even fit the double stroller in. Hope you have better luck than we did!
