My travel agent said to call the Polynesian a week before arrival to arrange for specific rooms.
Is this true?
Is this the best way to handle this?
I have been told that Lagoon facing rooms are what I should want. Is this true as well. Are they hard to get?
Appreciate your input.

If possible, try to get a conceirge room in a lagoon-facing longhouse (e.g. Hawaii), which is also close to the Great Ceremonial House and give you a nice view o fthe fireworks at night

I love the Poly, so enjoy!!!

If the logoon view rooms are a little more then what your budget will allow... check out the Fiji Longhouse and ask for a marina view. It faces the marina and new pool, it's close to the main building where the monorail station, shopping, resturants, and front desk are and to the Polynesian, it's a garden view room as far as pricing goes... Check out Tikiman's website and click on the Fiji link, there are pictures of the views there.... not bad for the price!

Good luck

You would only be in Hawaii if you were paying extra $ to stay concierge. Tahiti longhouse is a good choice for lagoon view- it's a non-concierge building that is situated next to Hawaii on the Seven Seas lagoon. It is further from the pools/ main building (Great Ceremonial House which had front desk, shops & restaurants) but is a quick walk to the Epcot monorail. Have any room/ building request noted on your room reservation. What I heard in December- it makes no difference if you call/fax the room assigner prior to arrival. They check room requests as noted on your reservation.

I reserved the Polynesian about a year ago as part of a land/sea vacation.
I would guess that would rule out concierge buildings. Is the Hawaii the only lagoon side building that is concierge?
I am paying full price/no discount. I hope this allows me to get the rooms I want.
Could somebody send the link to this "tiki" site.
Thanks,
FX

I think the Tuvalu and the Tahiti also have lagoon view rooms.
