Can we ask for rooms in a particular longhouse at check-in or is that completely set before arrival?

I'm thinking about requesting Moorea. We have 2 rooms in our group. We rented points so we cannot contact member services.

I have asked the member to convey the request, but I don't think it got transmitted since our magical express reservations didn't either.

I'm thinking the garden views, laundry, and proximity to TTC would be nice.

You can do online checkin.

There are only two long houses used by DVC - the rest are for the hotel. These are Moorea and Tokelau. I think your odds are good for getting Moorea without requesting anything. If you have a garden view, the garden view of Moorea and Tokelau should be of the same garden, and it's not much farther to the TTC from Tokelau. The rooms I would avoid at Tokelau would be the ones on the back side of Tokelau which overlook a swimming pool that is under construction.

You can see a map in this thread.

DVC has 3 buildings. Moorea, Tokelau and Pago Pago.

There is no "garden view" category; only lake view and standard view.

My friends are staying in a PVB Standard View Studio and asked me about calling to make a specific room request. Does anyone here have any advice on a short list of good room numbers I can tell them? Or should I just tell them something like, "request 3rd floor room in Moorea or Tokelau" ?

Does anyone know at which room in Tokelau the cutoff takes place between a LV and a SV?

Thank you in advance!

Going to Poly in a few weeks. Has anyone stayed at Pago Pago who prefers it over the other 2 DVC longhouses?

Thanks much for your reply.

In Oct my sisters room was in Pago Pago looking towards the Moorea building. The nice thing about it was that the parking lot was just out the door and it also seemed to be a very quiet location.

Is there word on when the pool will be done?

Thank you so much! It's been years since I've stayed at Poly as love of the Boardwalk area (and DVC resorts) kind of took over.... so I appreciate your help.

Tokelau is all standard view. Even the few rooms that see the water are standard view. Only lake view rooms are in Moorea

I've looked at the maps but I'm not familiar with all the buildings at the Poly. Do all of the lake view studios have views of the fireworks at MK? Also, can anyone estimate approximately how far of a walk it is from the Poly studios to the main pool? Again, I've seen the maps but I'm not really sure how far that is...Thanks!

Aren't the south side rooms in Moorea standard view? I remember reading that somewhere.
I think you misunderstood the PP they meant there are no lake view category rooms in Tokelau only standard rooms (a few at the end may have a non direct lake view for "free"). All lake view category rooms are located on the one side of Moorea. Moorea runs parallel to the lake and the one whole side is lake view (even if mostly blocked by the bungalows) and the other side is standard view.

5 mins maybe another minute or two if you are at the far end closest to TTC-quickest way I found was to cut through Tokelau "lobby" (center area of building where elevator was and walk past the quiet pool that is under construction to get there-it is pretty to walk o the path along the lake but it seemed a little longer to go that way if you are in a hurry.
