My DH just surprised me with upgrading us from Coronado to my dream resort, the Poly! :cloud9: I am SO excited and would love some info. Which building and floor is best to request? Any other tips? thanks :)

We prefer Samoa, on the volcano pool side. Close to both pools and the GCH. Easy to get those cups refilled at Captain Cook's.

:cool1::banana::cool1::banana: I am so happy for you!

The Polynesian is great resort; you will love its relaxing atmosphere.
We like staying in Tahiti or Samoa. I would suggest asking for a room on the 1st or 3rd floor, this way you have a patio or a balcony. Most rooms on the 2nd floors have a juliet balcony.

Enjoy!

We can offer some better suggestions if you tell us what is important to you and what room category you are in. Do you want to be near the monorail/shopping? Would you rather have a view of Seven Seas Lagoon? Perhaps a pool?

We only have a Standard View....being close to the volcano pool or to the main building would be nice.

A good place to start would be here at WDWinfo (the DIS sister site). Note that you can find maps and reviews there.

I think we are going around the same time! I was going to request Samoa balcony, and then I saw some recent pics of the other side of Samoa and am a bit concerned we'll be placed facing construction. The pics were in the tread comparing GF to poly.

From my understanding, Samoa rehab starts in jan?

I might request Tokelau instead.. But I am still uncertain. Good luck! Jen

We loved Tokelau garden view room. We were on upper floor beach end of building. We could even see the castle if we looked to the right off our balcony.
All floors have balconies in this longhouse. A short walk to pool along beach, also quick walk to GCH and path to TTC.

We love Samoa as it's just steps from the volcano pool, GCH, the beach, and Captain Cooks :goodvibes.

We stayed in the Rarotonga. It is next to the main house. It didn't feel like a far walk from the volcano pool, nor to the transportation center, nor from the docks. I think it was a great location.
