Hi folks!

I'm in the very first stages of planning a trip for either November or December of this year and am currently researching and trying to put together a budget. My number one preference would be to stay in a lagoon view room at the Poly. My question to all you Poly lovers out there; what were 2002's rates like for a lagoon Poly room? More importantly, were there any discounts on these rooms? I know Disney is extremely fickle and basing my budget on last year's rates is like buying milk with a 2002 expiration date (LOL), but any help you all could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

Well, last year there were AP discounts for lagoon view rooms and I believe the rate was somewhere around $225 per night, and there were also code discounts which put the rate about $10-$15 higher.

The code rates for garden views were $179. The lagoon views were $230. I know this because I flirted with upgrading to a lagoon view which was within $2 of the garden view price before codes came out for Dec.

That being said, the discounts this year don't seem to be as generous. I think last year we saw 40% off. This year, I think it's been less.

Current codes are out for checkins 4/27-7/3. 7/4 begins value season at most deluxes. When codes come out for that timeframe, you can pretty much see what you might get in Nov/Dec.

We were there in October last year and stayed at Tokelau. Our room was at the end towards the beach. Although it was a garden view room, we were so close to the beach and could clearly see the lagoon with GF in the far back from our balcany. It was very charming. So, if you are on a budget, you could try to book a garden view room but make a room request, which I did, and save money. NOV and early DEC are slow season so your request could probably be met easily.

jeank74, thanks for the awesome tip! I'll definitely keep that in mind when making my plans. Thanks again!
