I read there is not a Community Center at PVB, but do they still have a dvd library available to dvc members? Also, is there a fitness center?
TIA!

How far of a walk is it to the Grand Floridian?
Okay, I answered my own question! I found it on another thread; it looks like it a 10 minute walk.

"Very simple and pleasant 10 minute walk. Follow the path towards Luau Cove and then past it, towards the Grand Floridian. You will pass the Wedding Chapel on your right and the Spa on your left. You will enter the side doors of the Grand Floridian underneath the grand staircase."

Can anyone tell me if there is a dvd library? I can't seem to find that answer. It appears dvd players may not be standard in the studio villas, but you can request one? But, I am wondering if they even have a dvd library.

At the resorts that don't have community halls the DVD's are usually at one of the counters in the store. But I've never heard if that is the case for PVB. I don't think I've ever heard about if they are available at VGF either.

Do the villas even have a DVD player? I thought they were taking them out of most of the villas

In the ones they've been removed, or in the case of PVB where they were never installed, you can request them from housekeeping.

I have been reading more about this since posting the question and indeed it appears that any DVC resort that has recently undergone refurbishing does not have a DVD player anymore. I have read they can be requested, but wondering if they will still have DVD libraries? Not sure if there ever was a DVD library at the Poly?

I am a little surprised because although I am sure Disney would rather you go out and about spending money, there are families with young children that need to be back in the room for some down time. And DVC has marketed members as having a home away from home. We have always enjoyed having the option to watch a movie one or two nights during our stay when we want to relax and take a break.

Disney tends to use phrases that paint a wonderful mental picture like "welcome home". Often it's just a phrase, they really don't want you hanging out in your room not spending money. IMO that's why they are removing the DVD players, don't offer more/better channels on the TV's, and don't have better WiFi in the rooms.

The fitness center at Grand Floridian is in the same building with the Spa.
