I heard they recently renovated it. can anyone tell me what the new pool is like?

The volcano pool is re-done last year! (totally). Has a large slide, and waterfall, and zero entry. Check our tikiman's site he has pictures!

IMHO, I like it the old way a little better. The new landscaping has a more "open" look to it, vs a more lush tropical look. According to the manager, (we spoke with him on our Feb trip) they are going to install 40 more tiki-torches around the new area. He said around Sept or Oct, but for now, the new area is tourchless.

My family has mixed feelings on the new pool. My daughter loves the new, much longer slide. My sons both preferred the old slide which was so unique and they miss the deep end which never seemed to be crowded. I find it harder to walk around the beach side of the pool because people seem to pull their chaise lounges so close to the water now.
