Poly parking for hotel guests- valet or self park?

I have searched the boards for this question but all I find are questions about parking at the Poly if you are NOT staying there. I have a different question. We will be staying at the Poly for the first time this year. We will have our car and plan to use it to drive to the parks (except MK), also to the water parks, DTD, other resorts, etc. We are thinking that we don't want to use valet parking for two reasons - we don't want to have to wait for them and also have to pay every time we want our car.

Is the non-valet parking fairly accessible? Will it be a hassle to self-park? Any advice is very much appreciated.

Depending on your building, the parking lot may be closer than the main building and the valet lot.

You definitely do NOT need valet parking if you are staying at the resort. The parking is right there, very close. In fact, like the previous poster stated, depending on what building you are in, your car could be quicker to get to than going to the GCH to get to valet parking!!

I always tell people that it isn't really worth it to pay for valet parking at the Poly if you're staying there. The self-park lot is extremely close. From some of the longhouses it is literally a 15 - 20 second walk from your room into the self-park lot.
