Reading all of the resort changer threads has me confused!!

We have Poly GV booked for Jan.2-6. Me, DH, DS (10), DS (10), DS (5). We are just going for a short trip and will spend a lot of time in the parks and not too much at the resort. We have stayed at GF, WL but normally stay at the Poly. I love being close the the MK and on the monorail. I was just playing around on the website and found I could get BC CL for $216 more. We do not use the dining plan so the breakfast and snacks would come in handy. I'm not sure how I fell about staying in a non MK resort but I also think it might be nice to try something new :confused3 I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions!!

I love the BC and I would choose it any day over the Polynesian. There is a lot to do in the resort area and the ability to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is really great. I don't really care for the separate buildings and how spread out the Polynesian is. The last time I stayed there it must have been a 25 minute round trip to get a cup of coffee in the morning.

But you have young kids who probably love the Magic Kingdom. It is a little harder to get to the Magic Kingdom from the Beach Club. If you are willing to try something new, then go for the Beach Club. If not being able to get into the Magic Kingdom easily is going to make everyone unhappy, then you may want to stay at the Polynesian. The pool at the Beach Club is awesome, but January weather is unpredictable, and they may not be able to use it.

We've stayed at both (although not CL) and while the Poly is our favorite, we did love the BC and had a great stay. If you want to try something new, I think the BC is a great choice. Being within walking distance to Epcot and DHS can't be beat and the boardwalk provides fun nightly entertainment. Good luck :).

Two of my personal favorites! :thumbsup2 I think it's fun to change things up and try new resorts! When you stay over in the Epcot resort area you get a whole new vacation experience. :) My boys are close in age to yours and they LOVE the BC CL. That whole area has so many fun things to offer for their age group. After a long day in the parks you can head over to the Boardwalk and check out the live performers, maybe rent a surrey bike, get some ice cream at Beaches n Cream, so many choices. ::yes:: Usually my boys are begging to hit the ESPN club arcade or karaoke at the Swan every night. :goodvibes My youngest loves the magician and juggler, and playing the carnival booth games. I think it's definitely worth trying! :wave2:

BC and Poly are my two favorite resorts! We've stayed at both multiple times, and two of our last three BC stays were CL. I've always been an Epcot girl, so I'm very happy at BC, but it might be a little adjustment if you're used to the MK area. If you're up for something new and don't feel the need to be super close to MK, BC is a perfect choice.

Even though BC is my favorite resort overall, Poly is a very close second. Same for our 5-year-old. But our 13-year-old and our 12-year-old rank Poly first - they love the monorail and like to be close to MK. So the answer for us is easy - split stay between an MK resort and an Epcot area resort! Now, you may be thinking that doesn't apply because your trip is short, but we've split 4-night, 3-night and even 2-night stays! :)

The good news is that you're making a great choice either way.

I'm here now at dolphin. Have stayed Poly, used BC pool when BWV pool was being renovated last . Booked BC for Feb. Love boardwalk area but after walking in BC lobby yesterday no wow factor. The location is great for Epcot but can't beat Poly for MK ad Epcot and has my wow factor

YC is my favorite resort with Poly a close second. BC is just ok for me. I have a hard time recommended the BC Cl, but if you have never stayed Cl and have nothing to compare it to you will probalby enjoy it. I would give BC a try. Just remember only 50% of the rooms have balconies and the view are just so-so. Have you considered Yc Cl?

I really don't know the difference between the 2 resorts. My brother and his wife love YC but they don't have any children and spend most of their time at Epcot. We usually stay CL when we are not in WDW. I thought it might be worth a try since there wasn't much of a price difference between POLY and BC CL. What do you like about YC CL? Thanks!

Thanks for all of the responses. My DH really would like to try something new but there is something in my brain that has me nervous about not staying at a MK resort :confused3. It sounds like everyones children love the YC/BC area though. I'm leaning towards trying something new :scared1:

Personally I could not do it. MK is our fav. I am too attached to the Poly and so are my kids.

With that said, I am sure you will have a great trip! Enjoy and then come back and tell us all about it. :thumbsup2

I know that is really how I feel. I clearly don't do well with change:rotfl:! But my DH (who likes the Poly too) really doesn't ask for much and would like to try something new. We try to go at least once a year if not more so it's not like we won't be going back soon. Just trying to talk myself into change with some help from the Dis.

If you are used to staying club level outside of WDW you are going to be very disappointed with WDW CL. On top of that, BC CL is my least favorite of the ones I have tried at Disney.

Our favorite stays before this year were at the grand floridian and contemporary, mostly for the ability to pop into mk any day. This past januarty we stayed at bc and loved it. We popped into epcot just about every day and loved the feel of the epcot resort area. The pool area was great, except for the construction that was going on and the fact that my toddler was not liking sand on his feet! :rotfl2: we own dvc at bay lake, but plan to go back to the epcot resorts often. I think you will enjoy it!

That's pretty much what I figured as the Deluxe hotels are not exactly the same as a luxury hotel outside of disney. What are your favorite CL resorts?

At WDW I think GF RPC is the only one that comes close to offering a decent selection of food combined with a nice atmosphere. However, the cast members who work at the Innkeeper's Club at BWI are the nicest and the club room there is kept clean and stocked.

We've done 7 of the 8 club level's on property and they all have their pluses and minuses. GF RPC is amazing, but the price is out of reach for most people. Poly CL and YC CL are my two favorites. They have nice lounges, decent food offerings, and friendly CM's. WL CL and AKL CL are tied next, the rooms are small for our family, though I have to say AKV CL was a totally different experience. We had a 1 bedroom villa on club level. I would do that again in a heartbeat! :thumbsup2 We had the space we needed plus the benefits of CL, so it was the best of both worlds. The only downside being that the AKL is so far from nightlife or things to do in the evenings. My DH and kids love the Epcot resorts because they offer so much to do. BC CL would be my least favorite but it is typically the cheapest and easiest to book on short notice. We love the resort and SAB, but the lounge leaves a lot to be desired. It's small and crowded. A CM told me in August they were going to be doubling in size, but I haven't been able to confirm that with anyone. Last to do on my list is CR CL. I'm not a fan of the CR, but I'd like to try the CL at some point. :)

Oh goodness! I forgot BWI CL! :rolleyes1 We've only stayed there once but I agree with Pakey, the staff there was superb! :thumbsup2 The only thing that kept us from going back was the location of the Inkeeper's Club, it's a hassle winding down all those hallways, and my kids don't like the pool. But the rooms are gorgeous and the lounge is beautiful. :goodvibes I'd love to try one of the garden suites.

I stayed BC CL in May and had a fantastic time! My DH is not a Disney fan but he said he couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. The convenience of CL was excellent, and we had no problem with buses to MK - never waited long, not crowded... Walking into Epcot was incredible.

With CL it's like have a whole other space, which was awesome for early mornings when I was awake before my family. Worth MUCH more than $216 to have the CL perk!

I'm sure you will enjoy your holiday wherever you go.

We are Poly lovers, and were also nervous about not staying at a MK resort. I was afraid it just wouldn't feel the same. It was a different experience, but just as much fun. Although we weren't a monorail ride away from MK, we could walk to Epcot or HS. We now love BC CL as much as Poly CL. We have now had 3 stays at BC CL. We returned from our most recent stay on the 13th. It was wonderful! You can't go wrong with the Poly or BC. They are both great resorts!

I spoke with my SIL and they just got back from YC and she said they are staying at Poly the next time. They are AP holders have stayed at the YC the last several trips and I think they need a change of scenery.

I think I'm leaning towards Poly since it's our first trip with all 5 of us and I feel we should be in our home resort. We can book BC for summer or next fall. Although I told DH this and he really wants to try something new this time and we can return to Poly for summer or fall:eek:! He thinks we will enjoy the boardwalk area with more restaurants, performers etc.
