My husband and I are taking our 5 year old son and almost 3 year old daughter to WDW in October. Is it worth $650-$1000 more for a week to stay at the Polynesian instead of the Wilderness Lodge? We are getting annual passes and this is our big trip. The rest of our trips will probably be spent in a value resort so I want to make it special. Thanks for the help! :)

I've stayed at both and loved them both. I think only you can answer the "is it worth it?" question because the answer highly depends on your own financial situation and the priority you put on certain aspects of your vacation.

The rooms at the Poly are larger than at the WL, but that didn't make much difference to us since it's just my DD and I traveling together. With 4 of you, you might appreciate the extra space. Although the WL does offer the bunk bed rooms which your 5yo might really enjoy.

Transportation options are the biggest plus to the Poly because it's a short walk to the TTC. You can take the monorail from there to Epcot. For the MK, you can take the resort monorail or the boat launch from the Poly, or walk to the TTC and take the express monorail to the MK or the ferryboat.

The boat from the WL to the MK is really nice, but you are reliant on buses for all the other parks.

I find both the WL and the Poly to be very relaxing. You really can't go wrong with either.

We have stayed at both also. I agree with the PP that said you can only answer if it's worth it or not. Poly is my favorite resort, but I just couldn't justify spending $700 extra this trip. We decided to stay an extra day and do the WL, which we also love. Weigh all of your options and I'm sure you will make the best decision for your family. Good luck!

Honestly I think you will love WL, it is beautiful! Great pool too, a boat ride to MK, I would save the money unless you really want to stay at Poly

I have not stayed at WL, but have stayed at AKL. I believe that the rooms sizes are very similar. We were very comfortable with 2 small children at AKL and used the balcony for extra space. WL has bunk beds available and if your kids like to sleep in them, I highly recommend booking a bunk bed room.

We loved the Poly and to us it was worth the extra expense. The rooms are huge with a lovely day bed. We asked for a 1st floor room, close to the pool and GCH and got an awesome room in the Niue longhouse facing the Volcano pool. We had wonderful transportation, even the buses.

We really love WL. We've never stayed at Poly but have hopped the monorail to go eat there ect. We just love the decor and feel of WL. I don't think either will disappoint but in this economy saving money and still having a great experience is the way to go. If you will spend a lot of time in the MK or EPCOT Poly might be what you want since there will be less folding of the stroller but we love the boat ride to MK. I think the buses everywhere are about the same so one resort won't do a better job that the other.

The Poly is SO worth it! We had the very same dilemma last year and so glad we decided to spend the extra money. We felt like we in the middle of it all. Seeing the fireworks at night while watching a movie on the beach was spectacular. The kids loved that right outside the room they could see the Castle and watching the monorail pass by was a memory they'll never forget!!!
