Hi. We'll be taking our two boys (8 months and almost 3 year old) to Disney first week in December. On our last trip with my older son, we stayed at the Poly, and had a great room in Tahiti right off the beach. My son could play in the sand, and had a great time. This trip, we're going with my parents who really want to stay at the GF. We've been there 2x before, but never with kids. My question is does anyone know if any first floor GF lagoon rooms have sand outside like the Poly? Also, what's people's opinions on the better resort for kids these ages? I'm interested in the hotel which offers more kid friendly activities, which is why I'm harping on the sand issue.

Thanks!

The first floor rooms at the GF do not open up to sand... it's all grassy areas. They do have a sand beach down by the pool though.

We have stayed at both the Poly and the GF with our two young sons. I think we enjoyed the Poly more as a family, but the GF is great too. They both have the monorail, zero depth entry pools, quick food options, boat to MK, great view of EWP and fireworks, so I guess it just boils down to your personal taste. If your parents really want to do the GF then go with that. It will make them happy and your kids will have just as much fun as they did at the Poly. :) We enjoy staying at different resorts, so it will be good to try it out and see what you think. :)

Hi just wanted to add that my two kids loved GF last year. One was six, one was 1 1/2. They absolutely loved the waterfall at the pool and especially the water that sprits out from the ground. The lifeguards I especially liked as they really kept an eye on everyone. The monorail passes by the pool with the waterfall and my son thought that was the coolest. I can't recommend it enough. They had the time of their little lives (ok so I did too!).

We stayed last summer with my ds who was 2 at the time. We loved it. He had a ball. The zero entry pool was great - and the lifeguard watched like a hawk!
The 24 food place was handy too.

We loved the GF and would not hesitate to go back again with our little one.
