Poly or Beach Club?

We just stayed at both and I preferred Poly. The room was huge and we had a lot more storage at Poly.

BC was nice and it was great for Epcot and DHS. I think it comes down to which parks you prefer.

I also was expecting the Poly room to be more worn than BC but the opposite was true. At BC the couch seating was fraying the bottom of the furniture was scuffed and the safe lock was broken, it was also a key lock safe. At Poly the room was in very good shape and the safe was lock with credit card or PIN and was large enough to store our DSLR and iPads with lots of space to spare.

padawans had a great list! There are equal number of pros for each resorts, so it's hard to say that one's better than the other. We've stayed at both, and I would agree with the list completely!

I had Beach Club booked for our upcoming May trip, but when I got a PIN offer, I quickly changed to the Poly. While we enjoy the Beach Club/Yacht Club, the smaller rooms is the biggest turn-off for me. For our family of five--me, DH, 3 kids ages 18, 16, and 9---the bigger room at the Poly wins out for us! :thumbsup2

We just switched our reservation from the Yacht Club to the Poly for two reasons...Location and Dole Whips. With our 5 year old, both will be a plus! And, we will be spending most of our time at the MK...so, being a quick monorail ride away is everything. :thumbsup2

We've stayed at both. I love both resorts, but of the 2 I lean towards Beach Club. Someone listed it as a negative, but I really appreciated the open sink area with a separate area for the shower/toilet. It worked for us so that someone could be in the shower while someone else was getting dressed, drying hair, brushing teeth etc.

We are only a family of 3 so I suppose the room size doesn't make much difference to us. The BC had plenty of storage, it just doesn't have as much empty floor space.

The small elevators at the Poly, the lack of a hot tub after a long day walking in the park, and only a single sink in the bathroom are what I think of as negatives.

For the BC, the lack of a full counter service is what I see as the biggest negative although they do have a limited menu in the Beach Club marketplace.

For the biggest pros,
Poly -- the theme of the Poly can't be beaten plus the monorail.
For BC, walking to Epcot so that we could take advantage of more Epcot dining options in the evening and Stormalong Bay.
