Poly - LV or GV concierge ?

I've been checking out the rates and have only just discovered (slow I know !) that the rate for GV concierge is more or less the same as LV non-concierge.

I've booked LV so that we can watch the fireworks from our balcony/patio but as we 're visiting mid week in early November (2-5) it seems likely that there won't be FITS the way the hours/entertainment schedules are panning out for the off season at the moment. ??

Would I be better off spending my ££/$$ on the concierge service instead ?
What specific benefits would concierge offer us and especially our DDs (7 & 2) ?
We're planning on using the Poly as as a wind-down after 2 weeks in a villa hitting all the parks so will probably spend a fair bit of time in-resort.

Thanks

We are staying concierge at the Poly for the 1st time in 17 days. The reason we picked to go this route is...the personal service we have and will receive, they make all your PS's for you, the food and beverage offerings throughout the day, especially breakfast in the morning(continental). Bottled water that they allow you to take to the parks. Use of a free jogger stroller (I have read on this board that they are first come first get, but I inquired about them to Tara on concierge staff and she has reserved one for us during our whole stay). I also asked about some special gifts that I wanted to surprise my dh and kids with, she said that they would shop for them and have them in our room at arrival. I have asked numerous questions about the resort and WDW in general and I have gotten fantastic information with friendly and proffessional service. We haven't even arrived and I feel like we've been pampered all ready! :D

Check out this link at Tikiman's Polynesian Resort Pages, Poly Concierge Services if you haven't already spend some time on all of these pages they are a wealth of information if you are planning a stay anywhere at the Poly!

Happy Planning! :D

This will be our 3rd yr staying Concierge at the Polynesian. We love it! They do treat you very nice. They are very helpful in many ways.
The food is wonderful, especially the desserts! In the pass couple of yrs they have had buckets and shovels for the kids to play on the beach with, they give these to the children. They have a childrens table usually in the concierge lounge where they have sandwiches, brownies etc. for kids. By Nov the concierge will be back in Hawaii building so the lounge will have a wonderful view of the lagoon, castle and fireworks at night.
Also with it being a slower time in Nov (and not a holiday) you may get a free upgrade to LV by booking GV concierge. This happens I think by luck more than anything else but it is a possiblity.
We love the Poly so much I can't get my family to try another resort! ..............Yet;)

Go for it! I think you will have a fantasic time!:Pinkbounc

Hmm, think I may have to email Dreams to investigate further :D

Hi Tracy... I agree - if it's the same cost I would take service and food offerings over the view....

You can see the fireworks from the beach - and like another poster said you may get the Lagoon View by chance anyway.

I just wanted to say Hi.. I have visted Wales before - Llangollen and Cardiff - there might be more L's in in that towns name LOL - and it is pronounced totally differently (Clan-goff-lan)? LOL

I had fun in wales (especially at the pubs)

My daughter has a little welsh dragon in her bedroom...

>>^..^<<

The difference is............ $14 !! Consider the ressie changed - concierge it is :Pinkbounc

The pubs in Wales are great aren't they ? I live near Cardiff but have also visited Llangollen (beautiful place ). Very good job with the pronunciation but its virtually impossible to write down how we welsh sound our 'LL's and 'CH's :D :D

Thanks everyone for your advice

I've been telling people for years that for nearly the same amount of money they can stay GV concierge rather than LV nonconcierge--to some people that view is worth it. For our family, I'd rather have the added services of the concierge stay. I don't think you will be disappointed in your decision--the difference you spend between LV non and GV concierge will be made up in sodas alone! :D

We're eagerly awaiting our next visit!
