Poly LV or GV - 2nd Week of December

Thinking of becoming owners at the Poly via resale. One of the times of the year we see ourselves going is mid-December. Getting a bit worried that even as owners at this resort being able to book a 5 - 6 night trip during this time might not be possible. That said, we would be online as soon as the reservation system opens to book our stay for the dates we would like. Any thoughts on if this fear is warranted? Also, could someone explain the term "walking reservations"?

Since Poly is only studios, and not 1 or 2 bedrooms, getting one should be not a huge problem right at 11 months. I think there are more LV.

Walking is when you start a reservation earlier than you really want. Say you want December 10 to 17th. Instead of waiting until Jan 10th to try and book, you check earlier,

So, say you check on Jan 1st and see the room is there for Dec 1 to 8. You book. Then, you go in and modify the reservation moving it every few days until you get to the actual dates. As long as you modify that original reservation before it ends, you will be guaranteed to get your dates,

To be honest, I actually was lucky today and got a BWV SV room for next year right at 8 am, One of my friends wants to go over NYE in 2020. Wasn’t planning to walk, but when attempted it...November 28 to Dec 3..and I got it, I booked!

Now, I will change it ever 3 days until I get her actual dates of Dec 27th to January 2nd. So, yeah, I am walking one for a month. Not sure it would have been needed, but it’s a pretty hard room to get so wasn’t taking any chances especially since I figured I’d be doing pool/garden view

There are 360 studios at Poly, 288 of them are standard view. You shouldn't need to walk, right now they are both wide open for the first week.

To date, Poly studios have been open, and readily available, at 8 a.m. at 11 months out year round and generally well past that time. Having a huge number of studios significantly lowers any risk that a 11-month issue could actually develop.

DH and I, and my parents are both recent resale Poly owners (we own direct thru Disney at SS and my parents at OKW). We stayed this past late nov/early December and last year at the same time at Poly, and booked 2 studios for us all with no problems. Both trips we had SV in Tokelau, though we could still see castle from our room, though partially blocked by trees. Love the Poly!
