Ive only been to the world once and stayed at the poly, fell in love.
I paid a visit to the lodge and found it very beautiful and serene.
Should i stay there a night or two?

Im planning a 7 night trip this december to the poly.

YES!!!!!!! WL is great! Reminded myself of that last week when we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe for supper. Walking in the front door never ceases to amaze me. Rooms are smaller and can only hold 4 but if that's not an issue, I would definitely try it out.

First off... I love your screen name.:bitelip: We have stayed at Poly many times and loved it. We tried WL a few years ago and fell in love with it too. I think the Wl is better choice in Dec. The hot tub is big plus if it's too cold for the pool.

I did a split stay between the two last summer. Both were very nice for different reasons. Only problem with WL is you lack the awesome transportation options you get at Poly. I'd say, if you want a serene environment away from it all....stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. :-)

yes, if you are staying there in Dec. you will love it! you can hop a boat to MK. the fireplace is awesome....the rocking chairs in the lobby....whats not to like!!?? lol

As others have said, the WL is worth trying. Having stayed at both, the Poly is our favorite, but we also love the WL (especially during the holidays :santa:). The lodge is beautifully decorated and the fireplace surrounded by rocking chairs makes for a cozy atmosphere for enjoying the hustle and bustle of the lodge :cloud9:. I don't think you will be disappointed.

We've done both....WL coming out in top...

Don't get me wrong, Poly is fantastic.. But just can't justify the cost anymore... Out priced itself to us and with the odd workings of the monorail... Unreliable...

That said, WL, has been our go to deluxe resort for many years and trips but it to is becoming a little on the high side with price ...

AP discounts have been small ( hard to justify an AP anymore ) and going 2-3 times a year, we've dropped of to a moderate to be able to make all these trips...POFQ, best mod we've been to...

I have stayed at the WL twice & while it was nice it just wasn't for me. I missed the monorail & seeing the view in the distance.

Can't really imagine a reason to not at least try it. It can't be price since you can afford to stay at the Poly. Give it a shot if only for a few days. What's the worst that could happen? :cool1:

We are one of the few posters who don't really care for the WL. We did a split stay with POR and were actually disappointed in the WL after being at POR! Since then, we've stayed at the Poly and love it - we have another Poly stay coming up in August.

For us, the WL didn't hold any appeal. It just seemed like a big hotel rather than a Disney resort - it reminded us of some of the large indoor waterpark hotels we have in our neck of the woods. We didn't like Roaring Forks as a QS option and our kids weren't overly thrilled with the pool area. Now to be fair, I'm sure the resort is beautiful during the Christmas season and had we stayed during that time (we always visit in the summer,) perhaps we'd feel differently.

If I had to find a positive, the boats to MK are a nice option. There was nothing WRONG with the resort, it just wasn't for us.
