What longhouses are the best to stay in? We would like to be close to the pool, restaurants etc..a good view would be great too! We are booking a "standard view"
I have read the "tikiman poly" page etc..but would love to hear from people that have also stayed at the Poly, and what they loved about their room.
Thanks:)

We loved our stay in Samoa. We thought it was convenient to everything as it was just steps from the GCH, volcano/quiet pools, the beach, and Captain Cooks. We had a first floor room facing the quiet pool, which was a pretty view. I don't think there are any bad longhouses/views at the Poly, but we loved being in Samoa since we spent a lot of time at the resort relaxing by the pool :goodvibes.

First, everything is close to everything at the Poly. It is a fairly small property that you can walk across from end to end in 5-7 minutes. So most everything is 3-5 minutes from any longhouse. The longhouses on the east side (Tokelau and east) are newer with larger rooms, 476 sq ft vs 415 sq ft.

You really wouldn't go wrong in any longhouse but my favorite garden view is Tokelau because of the larger rooms, fairly central location, access to main beach, and having balconies on all floors. Only the newer buildings have balconies on the 2nd floor as well as 3rd. All others do not have 2nd floor balconies. For lagoon and theme park view I usually recommend Tahiti.

We plan on spending a lot of time at the resort as well, so Samoa sounds great!
I think the 3rd floor only has balconies if I'm correct? Would a 3rd floor room have a good view?

Thanks for your info:)

That's comforting to know that all longhouses are close to everything, thank-you!

I didn't relaize some rooms were bigger, that's a bonus too!!!

I would love a 2nd or 3rd floor unit cause my kids love to sit out on the balcony.

Yes, only the 3rd floor rooms in Samoa have balconies. We had a pretty view of the quiet pool, but the other side is a view of the volcano pool, so IMO, either view from Samoa is good :goodvibes.

I requested the Tahiti longhouse (TP view). Can/should I request anything more specific? Like floor level...

Just for clarification, TP view is a booking category not a request, it costs more than garden or lagoon view. A specific floor can be requested, we do every year and usually get that request.

Tahiti is a very good building for TPV and is one of the east side buildings with the larger rooms. It's also very convenient to the transportation options at the TTC.

If you google "tikiman polynesian" this guy gives you tones of info, and info all about the Longhouses, and he describes each longhouse in detail.
I've already looked at it, and now I'm getting other experiences from people that have been there.
Good-luck!!

Which floor do u request? TIA!

We had a standard view in Fiji and had a view of the volcano pool and marina/lagoon. Beautiful. Fiji is right next to the Grand Ceremonial House and a quick walk around the marina to the pool.

That sounds really nice! I don't know whether seeing water, gardens or the monorail is the best to hopefully get. I think my kids would love to see the monorail all the time..for me, seeing the water, beach etc would be perfect!

We will be staying at the POLY for our 1st time at the end of this month. I keep changing my mind on what to request. I haven't officially changed my original request but when I read stuff on these boards it makes me think maybe I should've requested different longhouses. :faint: We have a Lagoon view room and I requested Tahiti 1st floor. If I'm paying for LV I would at least like to see the lagoon with out trees and shrubs blocking our view. So, now I'm thinking of asking for a 2nd or 3rd fl room. :confused3 We won't be checking in until 7:30ish on a Saturday evening, so I guess I had better get prepared to take what is left. I'm just so excited and happy to be at the POLY I shouldn't really care where they put us. I hear many say there just isnt a bad view anywhere at the POLY ! :goodvibes
