Poly Lagoon View or WL concierge??

I booked my reservation for 11/28/04-12/02 back in June for the Garden View concierge at the Poly in hopes I would be able to apply the annual passholder rate.

As soon as the AP rates came out I called and was told nothing was available in the concierge at the Poly with the AP discount.

I changed my reservation to a non-concierge room to get the AP discount hoping a concierge room will open up. I've been calling everyday for weeks now without any luck.

In the meantime, I made a reservation at the WL in the concierge.( I know people don't like hearing about someone holding a 2nd reservation especially if they are trying to get the WL concierge right now). If I can't get my choice for the concierge at the Poly I will eventually have to choose between my two reservations.

I just love the monorail (and the Poly too) having a 6 and 3 year old with strollers but I also love the perks of having concierge. The WL will give me the concierge that I love, but of course no monorail, and I do also love the Wilderness lodge.

Aaahhh, the agony!! Would like advice and opinions from Poly and WL fanatics. Thank you in advance.

I don't know if this will help, but the WL does have the Water Launch to MK and FW. You could get a monorail at the MK or the water launch might even go to the Poly where you could get the monorail - sure sounds complicated! I also heard (not personal experience) that the WLC balconies are privacy balconies so the kids cannot see thru and maybe not even over. Someone mentioned that their child tried to climb up to see over!! Yipes!!

Also, the WLC is not as nice (the food etc) as the Poly - it's more of a "lite" Concierge - tho i've heard the CM's are great.

Does that help at all?? Have you tried the Cont C? or GFC? GFC was available when I called (diffierent dates) for standard C @ $310 per nght plus tx with a mail code. It is not full concierge but the "lite", but it si on the monorail.

Of course, if you love the Lagoon view and the Poly I'd say go with that...you probably will not be disappointed.

Best wishes!!

Thank you Bacibecky,

Your points are good, I think I'm still leaning towards the Poly, hopefully an AP concierge room will still open up ( this is for my hubby more than anything--needs his snacks--keeps him happy after I've dragged him around the parks!!)

Thank you Denman,

It helped!! Its true, a picture(s) is worth a thousand words. The view in this case is such a big part of the experience. Only us disneyholics can understand it.

On this most recent round of discounts I was never able to get the discount for the Poly concierge while calling but I did eventually get it online so I would suggest you regularly check online!

Good luck!

denman- Those pictures are beutiful. You must have a very good camera, the pictures are so clear. Thanks for posting them!

I thought I would get some insight from WL fans? Any rebuttals? I do also really love the WL?

I have asked questions similar to yours in the past when comparing these two resorts. Here is the information one individual replied with:
The staff for the Polynesian Island Planning Office is actually the staff that handles concierge guests for planning at the WL. Someone who I know at the Polynesian IPO is who told me this and they mentioned that the WL concierge is referred to as “ not a full concierge” so if you want a full concierge experience I would suggest the Polynesian.

I also reviewed numerous sites with photographs and comments in reqard to the WL Concierge.

Concierge in the WL was an after thought and the original construction plans did not even have concierge in the resort. Thus, the WL concierge area amounts up to being a hallway area...not a lounge like most of the other concierge resorts. CM are crammed next to the elevator area...less than impressive when it is compared to the other choices available.

Thank you missionmouse for the additional insight.

Good news for today is after giving up calling for a few days to get the concierge with the AP rate I tried this afternoon one more time and got the garden view concierge with the AP at the Poly, my new problem is my DH complaining about the length and cost of the trip with now includes a 3 night cruise at the end!! But its a problem I can live with.
