Poly Elevator Question

DW and I recently went to WDW and resort hopped on a couple of the days we were there. Anyway, when we visited the Polynesian, we thought that, as always, it was absolutely beautiful, but we did notice one thing: The fact that there was only one set of elevators in the Poly's lobby (versus the five main elevators in the lobby, plus additional elavators servicing guestroom floors throughout AKL, where we stayed).

So, I was wondering, for those of you that have stayed at the Poly: Is this a major annoyance? A minor one? Not one at all? I mean, there were a LOT of people waiting to get on that elevator when we were there.

I dunno. It's probably not that significant a thing, but I was wondering, as DW are considering staying there on our next trip to the World.

I could easily be wrong, but aren't there no Guest rooms in the Great Ceremonial House (aka main building) of the Polynesian? I thought it was just Registration, shops and restaurants - although the elevators are a bit small even for the services that are provided :)

I think the difference is that there is that those elevators don't go to any rooms - at the Polynesian - and the people using it are just going to restaurants or the monorail. I've never seen lines waiting for the elevator. I wouldn't worry.

We never had to wait. We only used it to go up and down from the monorail. Sometimes we took the stairs. Tight squeeze sometimes if someone had strollers, but not a big deal.

Yes there are only two floors and no guest rooms in the GCH. Most people seem to walk the stairs anyway. Our daughter uses a power chair and waiting for an elevator has never been an issue.
