We are heading to WDW in August and currently have ADR's for Kona and Ohanas. I am wondering how the current renovations are affecting the Poly experience and the dining at these restaurants.
Has anyone been there recently?

The open area that viewed the waterfall from the 2nd floor is completely boarded up from the first floor to the ceiling as they're removing the waterfall and replacing the skylights. They've also built a temporary storage closet out in front of the Tambu Lounge. There's a definite hit to the ambience of the GCH but Ohana and Kona are, otherwise, unaffected.

Correct. Unless you are at one of the tables in Kona closest to the check-in station, you'll not really notice the construction zone other than coming and going through the lobby.

Will the waterfall be redone at any point or is it gone for good? I enjoyed it, and it really added to the ambiance of the place, in my opinion.

It is, unfortunately, gone for good. The new lobby with have a dinky fountain in the center and open space everywhere else.

Ooh.. a rapid-fill drink fountain in the middle of the lobby would be nice! :thumbsup2
