Poly construction by january?

We are looking to stay at the Poly Villas at the end of January. A lot of the resorts were booked for many dates we were trying for but poly was consistently available. That makes me nervous...is there something I should be aware of? Is the construction that big of a deal? I know the quiet pool with be closed. Are these villas not very popular?

Are you specifically looking at DVC resorts (when you say "a lot of the resorts were booked") or Disney resorts in general? If you mean vs other DVC resorts Disney owns many more points at Poly DVC right now vs other DVC resorts as they are currently selling the Poly whereas all other DVC resorts are sold out and Disney only owns a small portion of them. I think I read Disney has only declared 40% of the poly points into member inventory which means they still own/control 60% of the villas right now to book for cash reservations. If you mean vs regular poly rooms or other Disney hotels then I'm not sure why the big discrepancy in booking.

Just a quirt, PVB has been booked for a while now. January is not that busy a period for DVC resorts as so many members have already visited WDW in the October through December period.

This was only comparing DVC studios. BLT, poly villas, and BWV all had many available dates while BCV, VWL, Grand floridian were always filled. I would have assumed polly and grand would be hardest to get.

BCV, VWL, and VGF are the three small WDW DVC resorts. In addition, VWL and BCV are both going through rehabs. I forget the dates, but Disney has reportedly been moving some reservations from VWL to other properties. I am not sure tif the BCV rehab has started already or not, but there are posts about it.
