Can anyone give me a room number or general area suggestion for the best view of the Castle but still close to the lounge in the Poly CLV??? We are four adults goin from January 24-31. I would like a balcony but I understand the 2nd floor does nto have any and the 3rd floor is smoking optional. I absolutely do not want to be bothered by smoke but love the idea of a balcony.

If you are on floor one is there a patio area to sit outside? I love to have the ability to sit out on a porch/patio and not bother others in the room - there will be 4 adults. any suggestions would be great.

I am also anxious to hear about the renovations once they are completed in the Hawaii building.

When I stayed Poly lagoon view concierge in Dec. 2001, we had a terrific view of the castle from our room (#1512). We were on the first floor about midway down the hall. First floor rooms do have a nice patio to sit on. We could also see the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian from our room. If we stepped out on our patio we could also see the Wedding Pavilion. Here's a link to pics of our room and the view:

After looking fromt he outside and taking Tikiman's sage advice, we requested and got 1506--it has to be the best room in the place. First floor, non-smoking, direct view of the castle, beach swing right out your door, close to the pool, lounge, it was simply incredible.

There are chairs right on the patio, but as I said, you're right by the swinging chair on the beach, so you can walk 15 feet or so and really not disturb anyone.

Enjoy!

Thanks very much ead79 and ducklite. My brother is getting married at WDW in January, and these room numbers will come in handy. I'll check them out during the meet in December.

Sincerely,

Len

Your best bet is to just call the Itinerary Planning Office to request the view you want. They can actually help you out on that especially if you call a few days before your arrival. Keep in mind requests are just requests not guarantees.

Here is the patio area at the Hawaii longhouse.

As far as Hawaii longhouse is concerned Here is the view situation from the ground level. The upper levels may be better or worse depending on tree tops but you can view a photo of the longhouse lagoon view side on my web page.

1501 is down next to the lounge and the view of the castle is partly blocked by palms on the beach.
