POLY: But, I REALLY WANT a balcony!

The balcony shot in my post above was taken in June 2005, pre-refurb.

I know why I'm confused now. I was on the 2nd floor, not the third! Oops. :sad2: In fact, I believe we were the room directly across from the GCH end elevator, and probably the 2nd room from the end.

Yes, the 3rd floor had full balconies, the 1st had full patios (where I stayed 6 years ago) and the 2nd floor had the railing that pretty much only let you poke your head out the sliding door.

For our purposes, I didn't mind not having a balcony on that trip. We had a full balcony at the Grand Californian in June 2006, and it was a stunning view, but it was more trouble than it was worth, as my then nearly 3 YO DD kept putting a chair close to the balcony railing to get as clear a view as possible. I kept imagining her climbing up and over, which would have been very easy.

When I got to our room and saw the little railing in our 2nd floor Poly room, I wasn't as upset as I might otherwise have been had our children been older. But my request was for Volcano-pool facing Samoa longhouse and all the 1st and 3rd floor rooms were already filled by my later check-in time, so I would have had little room to complain.
